Near sat curled up on the windowseat, the plastic robot in his hand largely forgotten. It was good that Mello had other people to talk to. Near wasn't very good at interpersonal relationships, and couldn't provide much in the way of comfort.

Damn Matt, anyhow.

It was a new and unwelcome feeling, being worried for a loved one. While Near's placid expression as he stared out the window was the very image of calm, inwardly he was fuming.
