He had met many people during his sorting, and he had promised to reach some of them after he had been assigned to a House. Left on his own in Hogwarts, Bond took the time to familiarize himself with his surroundings before agreeing to meet anyone else

Enclosed is a picture of the creature in question. It's a trilobite, Dicranurus monstrosus. The specimen I've already seen at Hogwarts is a good 2 inches in length. That's fairly large; you may see smaller, if you see any at all.

I've been informed that at least one was sighted on the second floor of the castle, near a disused restroom.
