Open RP: Dealing

L has been out of sight since it happened. He finally reemerges, no more unkempt than usual, barefoot and smoking one of Matt's cigarettes as he moves boxes. He's getting the things he can stand to pack away into a spare room, on the other side of Ravenclaw where he isn't tempted to sit and go through them.

He looks calm. But, well, he's moving

A pair of hands reached out for the next box.

Soichiro eyed L with sadness and a little bit of curiosity. Did Matt's popcorning hit him THAT hard?

"Mr Yagami. Don't feel obliged-" offering it to him anyways.

[papayagami]

He shook his head. "It's the least I could do. I knew Matt, too, and I considered him a friend." Or at least a death-buddy.

[ijk_mno]

"Thank you. Moving boxes isn't really- well, thank you."

He won't complain too much.

"I wasn't aware you knew each other."

[papayagami]

"I've talked to him a few times. He gave me a cigarette to cope after I found out Light was Kira. I actually got along with him. I can't really say that with Near or Mello."

[ijk_mno]

"Well, that's something."

Setting his box down with the others.

[papayagami]

"And I do know what it's like to lose a friend." Even if he's talking to said 'friend'.

[ijk_mno]

"Did you ever keep pets, Mr Yagami?"

This is not entirely unrelated.

[papayagami]

"When I was younger. When my kids were young too. Why?"

[ijk_mno]

"I need something to cheer up a dog."

[papayagami]

Soichiro looked around a bit, then found a discarded cigarette carton and transfigured it into a pull toy.

"This might work," he held one end.

[ijk_mno]

"That's something. Thank you." He takes it from him, looking decidedly amused.

[papayagami]

"No problem." Soichiro grabbed another box.
