Soichiro likes to check the Popcorn Room as much as the Sorting Room. He still holds out hope that a familiar face would return, because the relief of having a friend there overrides any awkward questioning he might have to face.
Except today, when he looks in, there's a new kernel, and when he checks the plaque, Mail Jeevas stood out to him.

Matt was pretty much the only successor he got along with.

"See?" A soft voice said at Soichiro's elbow as he turned to see someone (Ryuzaki?) talking to a cat. "Mean B was too mean, and now Matt's gone."
He got a fleeting glance at red eyes before B slipped away, carrying his cat who was also his other half.
