Kusuriyuri knew neither exactly what pie or ice cream was, despite the house elves efforts to have him eat 'proper' food. However, he trusted A and did enjoy peaches. He entered the common room silently, watching A interact with River a moment before intruding.
Kusuriyuri bowed. "Thank you," he says softly. "It has been a while. All is well?" he asks while picking up the fork and turning it between his fingers. The device is still a little awkward to him.
"Very well. I found my brother." She watched him examine the fork, a kind of bemused smile on her face. Rui Wen was once again scaling her hair, blinking at the bright colors Kusuriyuri wore. She put up a hand to her mouth, saying in a conspiratory whisper, "I'm a girlfriend now!" She seemed very proud of this fact.
Kusuriyuri nods at her first statement. "That is good." At his second, he remarks solemnly, "I am pleased deshi has talked with you. He has mentioned you." Between his impression of the girl and A's description, he felt they were well matched.
"Deshi... student. A? You mean A, right?" She hadn't recalled hearing A be called that before. And Kusuriyuri, like a few others here, was someone she could not read at all. "I like him."
Kusuriyuri takes a bite of the pie, finding the blending of textures and flavors between the spices and the peaches to be pleasant. When he swallows, he says most solemnly, "Love tastes very well."
"It does..." she had said "made with love" because it was something people often mentioned about hand-made foods, but, in this case, it seemed truer than just a common proverb.
Kusuriyuri took another bite of pie, this one mingled with ice cream. "I have seen your brother," he says after clearing his mouth. "He came from the same room you did, the one with popcorn."
"He was confused. I took many showers, but it kept popping and unpopping him. Things are better now, he's here somewhere." she gestured to a prepared plate. "He needs to get his piece eventually." She had a "little sister" smile on her face that time, the one that read 'or I will humiliate the snot out of him for the next month for missing out.'
The first part of the statement was understandable, the second incomprehensible, the last he commented on, "It is good things are better. I am sure he will enjoy the pie."
