owl to Light Yagami
Well, not actually an owl. Mikami didn't know about the owls yet. He'd been told about the house elves, though, so he wasn't too startled when one appeared as he was leaving the Sorting Room, asking whether there was anything Master needed. He asked it for an ordinary sheet of writing paper.
After some deliberation, he decided it would be safest not to address the message at all, even though the elf assured him it wouldn't be intercepted. He wasn't going to take any chances with the castle still full of enemies.
My Sorting is over. I need to speak with you in private. Where should we meet?
"Take this to Light Yagami, in Slytherin," he told the elf. "Do not let anyone else see it. And bring me his reply."
He leaned against the wall, rubbing the bruise across one side of his face, as the elf scurried off.
