It was exciting, exploring the internet on the computer Matt had given him, but Einstein and Schrodinger tended to get bored within the confines of A's small room, especially when A wasn't paying attention to them

Wishbone's feeling better. He can't RUN yet, but he can walk a little bit on the injured leg.

But since he can't steal from the kitchen (it never occured to him that the house elves were flat out LETTING him get the food), he's moving on to Plan B: look piteously until they give him food.

That plan flew out the window the minute he walked into the Great Hall and spotted the cats.

CATS! he growled.

A was instantly on alert.

"YOU STAY AWAY FROM THEM!"

Wishbone looked up. Oh, hey! A!

These are your cats? Then I'll try to behave.

If one of them scratched him, though, all bets are off.

"The white one is Schrodinger and the black one is Einstein."

Indeed, they're approaching Wishbone cautiously, sniffing. They're not afraid of dogs; Koopa is a friend, after all.

Wishbone flinched at them getting so close, but he did promise A that he would behave. Hello.... he said to them. I'm Wishbone. I'm Near's pet. They don't talk, but he doesn't know that.

Their only answers were curious, friendly little mews, and then Einstein flopped to the floor at Wishbone's feet, twisting to show off his fuzzy little belly while peering up at him at the same time.

Well, Wishbone's never played with cats before, so he was unsure if they would play like dogs.

He hesitantly pushed against Einstein's belly, not trying to hurt him, just to play with him.

Einstein purred and patted at Wishbone's muzzle with his claws sheathed. Schrodinger stepped forward warily; if there was fun to be had she wanted in on it.

Actually...

It kinda tickled to be patted with kitty paws.

Wishbone lied down, partly to give his leg a rest, and partly so Schrodinger and Einstein could pat at him.

That got both kittens scrambling around and over him, sniffing, batting, and licking.

And for Wishbone, it was like being tickled all over, and he giggled constantly, squirming (but not too much).

"They like to play," A told him, as Einstein tried to start a wrestling match. "They play with Koopa, but they gang up on him."

What? Wishbone sat up quickly. Well, next time, I'm helping him! Two against one, that isn't fair!

As Wishbone was now seeing, as both kitties tackled him. Hey, come on! I just got out of the hospital wing!

"I think he knows they are just playing. And they are older than he is, and sneakier."

[woocha]

It's still unfair, see? Not that Wishbone was really putting up a fight, but still.

"But they are smaller," A pointed out. "And you are older than they are."
