It was exciting, exploring the internet on the computer Matt had given him, but Einstein and Schrodinger tended to get bored within the confines of A's small room, especially when A wasn't paying attention to them

It's just a damned good thing that the Chairman isn't wearing one of his capes, the cats would go to town trying to climb the thing.

Still, he permitted himself a smile as the cats tackled his feet as he walked into the Great Hall.

A is willing to be at least tentatively friendly to anyone his cats welcome, especially if the person in question is kind to the rapidly-growing kittens in return. The Chairman's smile is encouraging.

"I, I think they like your smell," he ventured cautiously.

"That, or they may sense a kindred spirit. I've been turned into a cat once, maybe they picked up on that." He crouched down to let the cats rub against his hand.

"It must have been nice, being a cat." A's cats, at least, are pampered and happy.

"I was actually irritated at first. The potions master found it amusing and I didn't. Once I got used to it, though, it was a little nice. I was glad to turn back into a human, though, thank you very much."

"If you want to be a cat again, tell me and I will give you catnip."

He likes even part-time cats.

The Chairman laughed. "I'm sure that's like a drug for cats, isn't it?"

"It is." He smiled, remembering how happy and silly it makes Einstein and Schrodinger. "They roll around and drool a little and seem very glad to have it."

[gourmetchairman]

More scratching of their tiny heads. "Well, if you promise never to tell anyone of this, if I ever turn into a cat again, I'll come find out for myself."

Curiosity is a bitch.

"Should I give you a packet of it, just in case?"

The Chairman held up his hand. "I'd rather not, could give way to too many questions."

[i_am_an_hero]

"You could say it was medicine." A gave him a hesitantly mischievous smile. "It can be used to settle the stomach, or the nerves."

[gourmetchairman]

He looked momentarily surprised. "I did not know that. Are you perchance, a student of Kusuriyuri's?"

(Well it did translate to Medicine Seller.)

"I am," A said with a pleased grin. "He has been teaching me how to make medicines from plants, to treat illness and injury. He knows a lot."

His admiration is clear.

[gourmetchairman]

"Yet he's eager to learn more. Not about medicine," he said with a wave of his hand, "but I've been teaching him a bit about food."

"It is always wise to want to learn more," A says. "He is learning about the plants around here, as well. Some of them are not familiar to him."
