Dear Ms. Claflin,

I have indeed recently hired an assistant, but should be pleased to meet with you to discuss your own interest in working in the Hospital Wing of Hogwarts. Please meet me in my office there at 14:25 tomorrow.

Yours truly,
Prof. Snape.

Severus is waiting in his office from two o'clock on. Again he is working on his large scrolls of exploded anatomical diagrams to adorn the walls. This one shows a leg with the muscles opened and carefully labeled on one side and a net of veins and arteries spreading from the other. The bone is also split to show its internal structure. It is a calming, relaxing activity and he works almost happily, alone and absorbed, his quill curling over his hand. He feels possessive of his potions and has most of them still in his dungeon rooms. There are none of his beloved jars and liquids in evidence and the room is austere, with only the fire, the Slytherin curtains, two comfortable leather-covered chairs, the one he occupies and a wooden chair near his desk in evidence. He has exposed the stones and the room is dark. He has candles on the desk and a rack of scrolls next to it.

He knows nothing of the new applicant and simply waits to find out.

Almost as if from her imagination, Snape's office sprung to life in front of her. It was exactly as she had always imagined it. She approached, slightly apprehensive of the man she really only knew a little about. What information she did have wasn't entirely reliable.

"Professor Snape?" She asked, peeking her head into the room.

"Miss Claflin." He minds his manners - the Miss honorific, unless he is informed otherwise. He also stands. "Please sit down.

"I am not sure what type of medicine you are used to practicing. I am myself familiar with wizarding medical practices. I have recently appointed a man named Dr. Krogshog to assist with the new non-wizard population here. I am sure they are more accustomed to different treatments than we are. He is also keen on research, especially research into the mind and brain.

"What are your credentials, areas of expertise and especial interests, please? And may I emquire as to your House? Dr. Krogshog and I are both Slytherin." He cannot help a small smile of pride.
