Matt's feeling sort of restless.

There's stuff he wants to be doing, but the equipment he needs hasn't arrived yet. Eventually he takes himself and his GBA on a walk until he finds an (apparently) quiet and motionless staircase to sit at.

This, to Matt, is a pretty social gesture. If actually wanted to game, he'd have stayed in his room.

Near had been in the library, and it occurred to him that figuring an alternate path back to Ravenclaw might be a good idea. He's only bringing a couple of books back with him, so now seems as good a time as any.

Running into Matt seems a bit incongruous, then, but nonetheless, there is Matt in a stairwell.

"Hey."

Matt glances up, though he recognises the voice, obviously.

"Hey, Near. What're you reading?" 'Studying' would probably be a better term, knowing Near, but still.

"Nothing terribly taxing. A few more books on charms." He looks at Matt curiously. "Why are you on the stairs?"

"Wanted to get out of my room for a bit. I didn't really have anything to do, though. This seemed about as good a place to sit as any."

He switches off the Gameboy.

Grinning like the cat that ate the canary, Konata walked up to Matt.

"Hey Matt."

"Hey," Matt says. He puts his Gameboy away, peering up at her expression.

"... you look happy?"

Konata sat down next to Matt.

"So. I saw you flying outside. With Ryuuzaki."

Matt nods.

"Yeah. It's fucking awesome - have you been yet?"
