With a small bang of displaced air, a twelve-year-old girl appeared, carrying what might have been a laptop computer, if laptops had eyestalks and jointed legs. She looked around, an increasingly annoyed expression on her face, and groaned

Rose tilts her head.

'What's bologna?'

"It's a kind of lunch-meat. Kind of sausage-y. And it's pronounced baloney. I think it's Italian."

[rosecasson]

'It sounds yucky,' Rose confides. 'I don't like meat you can only have for lunch. I prefer chicken.'

[computerwizkid]

"I guess it's not for everyone," Dairine said with a shrug. "That just means more for me."

[rosecasson]

'And more curry sandwiches for me!' says Rose, apropos of nothing. 'You can ask house-elves for some if you want. Baloney, I mean.'

[computerwizkid]

"House-elves? What are those?" Dairine asked.

[rosecasson]

Rose shrugs. 'Helper-servant-things. They're shy.' She pauses. 'But I have made friends with them.'

For Rose, 'making friends' = 'have not been told off by'.

[computerwizkid]

"Yeah, but what are they like? Besides shy?" Dairine pressed. Of course, she could investigate for herself later, but she might as well make conversation now. Or something.

Vote: Hufflepuff

[rosecasson]

'Elves!' she exclaims. Hasn't she ever seen an elf? 'I'm voting you into Hufflepuff. There are lots of elves there.'

"I just have a hard time picturing elves as servents, that's all," Dairine said with a shrug.
