Susan, who had been hunting for a particular mushroom for use in her unofficial Potions project, looked up at the sudden (very loud) impact. While she'd seen many odd things at Hogwarts, a small meteor strike was not among them, and she made her way over to the crater.

She'd expected a chunk of interesting rock. She hadn't been expecting a yellow-eyed kid in blue armor--especially not such a stunned-looking kid.

"You okay?" she asked, setting aside her bag of hallucinogenic fungus. "That had to sting a little."

Slightly distracted by the landing - armor or no armor, it did hurt - and the voice that only he could hear, Jaime was not immediately aware he had an audience. "...yeah, I noticed we got diverted. But by what? Gimme an answer in simple English for once, would you?" Whatever he'd smacked into before crashing, it had burned. When she spoke, however, he looked up in surprise - first at being caught, and second that the person didn't seem remotely afraid or disturbed. "Um, I think so," he managed after about a second of staring and wondering why the scarab sucked so much at telling him stuff that would be useful to know. For example, when people were within earshot of him one-siding it, or when someone was coming so he could change back in time. Not that the woman was collecting a sackful of hallucinogens, which he didn't really need to know ( ... )

...Okay, yellow-eyed kid in blue armor who talked to himself. Susan wondered just what was attached to him, and why.

"You're at Hogwarts," she said, hopping down into the crater. "School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." She smiled, slightly dry. "Most people just show up in the Sorting Room, you know."

She wondered if checking his pupils would actually tell her whether or not he had a concussion. Probably not, if the yellow eyes were any indication. "Where'd you come from?"

There was no way to answer that one succinctly, even if Jaime had been inclined to talk about it.

He automatically stepped back as she hopped down, out of consideration more than anything else; she'd pinged the scarab as weird, but it was almost as dazed as he was. Jaime didn't know it yet, but unwittingly shifting between dimensions just as he crossed through an incredibly strong no-kill magic spell was enough to seriously faze the scarab. "Wait. Hogwarts? How'd I get back here? Wasn't asking you, man," he muttered to the scarab quietly. "Guess I didn't dream it up, then." Another bet unwittingly won that he'd never be able to collect on. "I was here months ago." At least, he thought so. No time had passed at home, so how long had it been here ( ... )
