Alien...er...Exo-Patriate Club!
"Hello, all! If you could please take a moment to fill out a name tag-" Dax gestured to a neatly organized table, laden with Sharpies and stick-on tags "-we can get started! Please include your name, species, and a fun fact about your biochemistry!" The eager professor’s own tag proudly displayed 'Jadzia Dax, Trill, Has been male four times.'
"So, this is more of an informal organization. Just a chance to meet up with fellow offworlders, etcetera. Feel free to help yourself to our bevy of refreshments." Sure enough, the snack table was piled high with traditional earth cuisine, in addition to some of Dax's favorite dishes. Mmm. Filden Gagh. The wiggling truly enhanced its mealy texture.
There was also an open bar. Naturally.
"That being said, I would like some feedback on where we'd like this little club to go. My primary concern lies in Human/Exo-Patriate relations. I've found that a disturbing amount of staff and faculty have had little or no contact with off-worlders prior to attending Hogwarts. Equally troubling is that fact that a great deal of our own so-called ‘alien’ students have never been on earth before, and may be having problems adjusting. Any suggestions to bridge the rather substantial gap in cultural differences would be most welcome."
Dax, well aware that a large number of attendees were just here for the booze, picked up a steaming mug of Chech'tluth, and raised her glass. "To our first meeting!"
