Penny found herself a comfortable seat in the Common Room and waited, a smile on her face. This was going to be fun.

John had been wandering the castle aimlessly for some time after leaving Transfiguration Class. It was extremely unlike him to walk out on a class, but he'd never had to attend a class with his son before. But he reasoned that the class seemed pretty informal anyway.

Suddenly he remembered that he was supposed to be meeting with his new friend Penny at this time. He glanced at his watch (which he had reset to match the Hogwarts clocks) and picked up his pace a bit. He wasn't quite late yet, but he didn't want to keep her waiting.

He entered the Gryffindor Common Room and spotted her quickly, seated in a large armchair near the fireplace. He smiled and walked over to her.

"Afternoon, Penny. I'm sorry I'm late. I was.. distracted." He shook his head and smiled.

Penny looked at him sympathetically. "I'm sure she got the owl, and selfishly I hope you stay for a little while, anyway. But if you're worried, I've a roommate with a magic mirror who can probably show you what you want to see."

"Oh?" said John. "Huh. Well, that's pretty handy. Thank you."

He finished his glass of champagne and handed it back to Penny with a smile. "And thank you for that as well."

He leaned back in his seat and looked out at the view. "I don't think I will be leaving all that soon. It's nice here. Takes some getting used to, but..." He shook his head and smiled at Penny. "I've seen some wonderful sights and met some lovely people," he said.

He turned off the autopilot then and took control of the car. "Should probably get start heading back."

She returned his smile. "Just as you like." Hogwarts hove into view and Penny sighed. "We'll do this again, yes?"

"Certainly," John replied with a nod, taking in the rolling Scottish hills surroundings Hogwarts. He steered the car toward the school grounds, bringing them down in a smooth landing on the field outside the castle. At the entrance, he stopped the car and took out the key, which he handed to Penny.

"Thank you for a most enjoyable afternoon, Penny."
