"I made the mistake of going to that cafe you have here," she answered truthfully. "I'm not entirely certain what was in the food I ate, but I am quite sure I won't be repeating the experience." Now she did manage a wry, self-depricating smile, though a weak one.

He turned slightly to ease her through the doorway. "Yes." Mathayus glanced down at her briefly. "You okay?"

He hesitated, looking down at her. "I don't know."
Mathayus could understand not wanting the Hospital Wing. The woman who'd helped him wasn't exactly welcoming, and Brienne mostly looked like she needed to lie down. But... poison?
On the other hand, you couldn't die here. "All right." He turned around and carried her back through the Common Room, down into the dungeons.

She shook her head slightly to clear those unwanted thoughts from her mind and met Mathayus's concerned gaze. "Thank you," she said, a little surprised but also pleased that he'd capitulated.

To be honest, she wasn't worried about alterior motives. If he'd been interested in ravishing her, she'd still have put up a figyht, but that hadn't been lust she'd seen in his eyes. Still... you would think she was a frail maiden suffering from the vapors.
