He'd noticed her crossing the roof at night, and he had to admit, she had the grace. But he just couldn't be sure that she had the skill -- and there was only one way to find out.
He'd painstakingly set a trap, one that could only be set off if someone was crossing from tower to tower on foot. And when she lept, she'd set it off.
And he'd watched. He'd watched her take his trap to task, unfooled by misdirection and absolutely calm in the face of an attack. It... was impressive. In spite of all of his doubts, he knew it now. She was definitely one of his. He gave her a second to catch her breath before he dropped down behind her, silently. "Not bad."
