Ianto sent a note by Owl, just to be polite of course, to Jeeves, hoping to cement what came from the secrets board. On the parchment, he wrote,

I would be most delighted to meet you this evening, if you are free. Particularly as this has nothing to do with music. Shall I come by your room when the young master is settled in for the evening? It ought be near eight o' clock.

That would be excellent, Sir, I shall prepare the room for us and get us some nice Brandy. I shall see you in a little while!

There was a broad difference between going to the home of an aquaintance and going to the home of a friend. With an aquaintance, you always brought a token and planned some kind of diversion. With a friend, you only brought what you liked and the friend was the diversion. Or you the diversion for he.

So Jeeves arrived, empty-handed but quite willing to divert. He knocked on Ianto's door softly.

Ianto moved across the room and took a few nervous moments to sort out his suit and straighten his tie, before he opened it, beaming broadly. "Hello, Sir, please, come in." he said, opening the door wide and holding it for Jeeves.
