Till Kingdom Come: Sirius and Lily (Closed RP)
Sirius and Lily had had a lot of encounters on the Secrets Board, both secretly and with full knowledge of each other's identities. But, with the possible exception of a bit of back-and-forth about Bombalurina, their most contentious conversations had to do with James - that is, their disagreement about whether the real James, their James, could ever return to Hogwarts the way Lily had. (See Exhibit A and Exhibit B, the latter of which was prompted by a secret Lily had posted after Exhibit A.)
That last conversation had ended in Lily's asking Sirius to come find her to talk about the subject in person. Truth be told, Sirius did not want to comply with her request. It was obvious that this topic was highly upsetting to both of them, and he didn't see the point of talking about it any more. But she had asked for him to find her, and he figured that arguing about that would only make things worse.
So, after stopping by her room only to find her not there, he went to the next logical place she might be.
The library.
Not one of Sirius's favourite places. Still, occasionally it had its uses, and after stopping by the Muggle Studies section to pick up a couple of manuals on car repairs and a children's book on electricity, he walked around the various sections until he saw a head of red hair bent over a book.
After standing there for a moment, both to admire the way the light made her hair shine bright copper and to brace himself for what was likely to be a very unpleasant encounter, he took a deep breath and then slung himself into the chair next to her.
"Hey. Fancy a study break?" he said brightly, in the hopes of setting a positive tone from the outset.
