Application for Ranma Saotome (Ranma 1/2)

Ranma casually strolls into the sorting room, his hands in his pockets. He slumps down in a chair as he awaits the questioning to begin. "Alright, let's do this!... Hey, wait... There aint gonna be any cold water around here, is there?"

"So, you say you can beat anyone, eh? You don't look like you could," Franky said, trying to look as tough as possible, which isn't that hard when your forearms are thicker than most people's waists.

"Yeah, I'm pretty confident that I could." Ranma jumped up in the air, landing with one arm supporting his weight. After roughly a minute, he launched forward, landing on his feet. "Shouldn't go by looks. Never know what someone's capable of."

"Yeah, but I'm pretty sure I'm a better fighter than you," Franky said, grinning. "I mean, have you ever hit a guy with an elephant? Or fought a giant sea monster and won?"

Ranma shook his head. "Nah, never had ta. My fists and feet have always been enough. Ever beat a yeti-ox-eel-crane-octopus monster?"

"How big are they?" Franky asked, wondering if they were the same as the giant Sea Kings back home.

"Well, Taro hasta be at least 9 feet tall. He might even be bigger than that." Ranma wasn't really trying to boast, merely share his experiences. "Ya know, it sounds like you've been ina fight or two."

"Really? The Sea Kings back home are bigger than most ships," Franky said, grinning. "And, yeah, I have been in a few fights, being a pirate and all. Hell, before that I was a leader of a gang."

Ranma nodded. "No shit? Sounds like an exciting life, ta say the least. Were you the normal kinda pirate, sinkin' ships and stuff? Or did you do somethin' else?" The Anything Goes Martial Arts style was open to incorporating new elements at any time. Ranma might be able to learn something from this guy.

"Mainly we just sailed around looking for treasure and fighting marines and other pirates, but I did sink a few ships, yeah," Franky said, remembering the days before Hogwarts.

"That had ta be cool... I get my fill of fightin' too. There's a buncha weirdos back where I live. Guys with swords, magic paint, super strength... On top of me havin' a ridiculous amount of fiances. Don't think I ever fought a pirate though." Ranma couldn't explain it, but it seemed like he got along well with this man. Maybe it was their mutual love of fighting. Maybe it was the fact the guy didn't attack him three seconds after meeting him. "Name's Ranma Saotome, by the way."

"Nice to meet you Ranma. I'm the underground face of Hufflepuff, the most super man at Hogwarts, Franky!" At that, he struck a pose. "Say, why don't you and me have a sparring match after you're sorted?"

Ranma let a grin cross his face as he struck his own battle pose. "Sure, Franky. I'm always up for a challenge!"

Franky laughed and patted Ranma on the back. "You're a good kid! Say, where'd you want to be sorted? I'll vote you anywhere you want!"

Ranma crossed his arms over his chest as he thought. "Well, this one chick named Carrie said I'd fit in best at Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. So I dunno, whichever you'd think is best."

Vote: Hufflepuff

The answer was obvious. "Hufflepuff. It's the most super house here. After all, I'm in it!"
