Owls galore!

Dec 30, 2006 20:40

((Backdated to a couple days before Christmas. None of the confections sent are enchanted in any way. IC, May can't specify this since she doesn't know the dangers of cookies at Hogwarts.))

Having found her House, found the Owlry and actually managed to get a response from one friend from home - although it took a few owls to convince Normie that it was from her, that she was not insane, that she was fine and if he didn't call her folks and help her out with the shopping list she'd tell Brenda every embarrassing story about him she could recall from when they were kids - May is in a thoroughly good mood.

She's received the Biggest Care Package Ever (it's like Mary Jane bought out the grocery store making cookies) and then some, and since Christmas is coming, she decides to send gifts to almost everyone she knows. Fortunately, she hasn't been at Hogwarts long otherwise this post would take her mun EVEN LONGER.

Christine -

It was wonderful to meet you at my Sorting. Hope you have a Merry Christmas.

-May Parker

Enclosed is a porcelain music box shaped like a butterfly.

Lily -

I was going to get you a tea gift set since I know you like tea, but then again, I figured you'd probably be getting flooded with tea-related stuff. So then I figured chocolate usually works in some form. Merry Christmas!

- May Parker

The owl is carrying a gift basket of assorted cocoa.

Elizabeth -

It was very nice meeting you at my Sorting. I'm finally settled in and wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas. This is something of a generic gift, but I've always found it helps to write down experiences that you don't want to forget.

- May Parker

The owl is carrying a small package of cookies, and a personal journal with a silver ballpoint pen.

Mrs. Weasley -

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas, and I hope you like the cookies. My mother sent me a huge batch, and they're so good I had to share.

- May Parker

The owl is carrying a tin of homemade Snickerdoodles.

Professor -

Thank you for the help at my Sorting. I managed to get a message to a friend of mine back home, and my mother sent cookies. I hope you enjoy these. Merry Christmas.

-May Parker

The owl is carrying a tin of homemade sugar cookies with red and green sugar. When in doubt, go with cookies - especially ones your mother made.

Laura -

Now that I'm settled and have managed to get messages home, I got a friend of mine to send me some things. Hope you like this, and if you ever want to get together, let me know. Merry Christmas!

-May Parker

The owl is carrying a six-pack of Coca-Cola glass bottles in a gift box, each bottle well-packed and with a red bow tied around each.

Dr. Malcolm -

I know that this is the ultimate default gift that tells the recipient "I have no idea what to get you," but from my experience it's a lot better than a tacky sweater or a fruitcake. These are my mother's recipe (well, the coffee isn't), and I hope you like them.

-May Parker

The owl is carrying a tin of homemade chocolate chip cookies and a small bag of Fair Trade Coffee.

Jill -

Finally got settled into Gryffindor, despite the moving staircases. Drop me a line if you want to spar sometime. I don't know if you celebrate Christmas, but the cookies are for you and your friend (does he eat cookies?) They're my mother's recipe, so I guarantee they're good.

-May Parker

The owl is carrying a tin of chocolate chip cookies.

Samwell -

Thanks for helping me find my way around; I made it to Gryffindor and would probably still be dodging staircases by now. This knife isn't for fighting, but it's a nice tool to have everyday. My mother made the cookies, so I assure you they're good. Merry Christmas - I don't know if you celebrate it or something similar, but there are worse excuses to send gifts.

- May Parker

The owl is carrying a package, which holds a Swiss Army knife with the initials "S.T." engraved on it and a small parcel of sugar cookies.

To the Sorting Hat -

As promised, here are the leis I mentioned. My friend Normie sent me an assortment, so you can pick and choose from different colors. I also added a flashing Christmas light necklace because I had one and you can change the modes to make it flash in different ways. Merry Christmas!

- May Parker

The owl is carrying a package containing light-up Hawaiian leis in every possible color, as well as a Christmas light necklace and several spare batteries for them. Also enclosed is a small parcel with sugar cookies. May remembers Lily's advice about baked goods and figures it couldn't hurt.
