The moment Lucius called his name, Sirius froze in his tracks. Dammit. Well, he certainly couldn't just walk away now. There was absolutely no way he was going to go down without a fight, and there was even less of a way that he was about to look like a coward by running away.
Almost immediately he whirled around, his wand outstretched, only to hear Lucius's bizarre proclamation. Huh. Well, the man was coming out of the popcorn room, so perhaps he was disoriented. Sirius dropped his wand slightly, although he maintained his tight grip. If there was one thing he had learnt in the Order, it was to use every possible opportunity to gather information.
"Right. It...it is a very surreal day, isn't it?" Sirius shuffled half a foot or so to one side and then the other, trying to look strange and dreamlike. "So...how's life? What have you and your homies been up to lately?"
The last sentence - a bit of slang Sirius recalled from his days in Reno - sounded utterly ridiculous in Sirius's London accent, but that probably made it all the more odd, which was exactly the effect Sirius was trying to achieve.
"Homies?" It sounded even more rediculous when Lucius said it, as he had no idea what the word meant. He closed his eyes and rubbed his temples, a bit thrown off by Sirius's movement. He was still quite disoriented, an odd feeling for a dream, but he didn't dwell on it. "I have been here in Azkaban for sometime, I..."
Lucius laughed loudly then. "I'm standing here talking to a figment of my imagination, wasting my dream trying to figure out what the word 'homies' means." Lucius laughed again, quite struck by the feeling of surrealness of it all. This was HIS Hogwarts, and yet it wasn't his Hogwarts. What must he have done to get a dream like this? Perhaps tomorrow he would go to sleep earlier and have a nice, subdued dream of returning to the manor and Narcissa.
"Never mind." He said, resolving to enjoy the dream while he could. "Tell me, Black, how things are around here. This may only be a dream, but if something interesting is going on I want to know."
Azkaban? Lucius was dreaming about being in Azkaban? All Sirius had were nightmares about that place.
"Right. So...this isn't Azkaban." Sirius squatted down, stood up, turned in a circle, and faced Lucius once more. "But...things are just DUCKY around here. It's a right ducky place to be right now." Keep things strange. That was the strategy, and Sirius intended to stick to it. However, he also couldn't resist having a bit of fun.
"Are you enjoying living in Sparklypoo House? I hear it's very pink and shiny. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny." He wiggled his fingers around in the air in front of himself.
