Dogen woke up... and everything was quiet. Really quiet. Really, really, really quiet. That was disturbing.
More disturbing, as soon as he stood up, was a marked increase and height. A lack of pressure on his head, meaning his hat was gone, would have been more upsetting if he hadn't already noticed that he couldn't hear anything outside his own head, that he couldn't feel anything at all unless he actually used his hands.
It didn't take long (he was thinking fast! that was new!) before he looked around for a mirror, found one, and looked at himself.
"....Oh." This was... different. Had someone removed his brain and recranialized it into a different body while he slept? If they had, why were his psychic abilities gone? (And they were gone, the pillow on the bed refused to move no matter how hard he tried to push at it.)
He poked at the mirror, and when it refused to change, poked at himself. Yeah. Grownup, brown hair, pajama pants, no shirt. Not a face he knew. And since he was pretty sure this wasn't his own brain, whoever this was had a smarter brain. What did that mean? "I have no idea." Even the voice sounded really different.
Okay. Okay. Plan. I'm gonna plan. First, I should go looking for help. THen I should... um... actually, I think that'll do. Go looking for help. It wasn't a good idea to wander around school in pajamas, and Dogen had no idea where he was, so... probably getting dressed was a good idea. Just in case.
But he didn't want to invade his borrowed body's privacy and look or watch while he dressed it, so after he'd located some clothes, he screwed his borrowed eyes really tightly shut, grabbed some, and put them on. There - he was covered and could go out to Look For Help.
Confident, he walked out of the bedroom into the hallway and started walking. He'd have to get somewhere eventually. Maybe even somewhere he knew. Hopefully somewhere he knew. The castle couldn't be that big.
