Booze, Bollocks, and a Birthday Party; Open RP
Tables were set up around the outside of the Great Hall - several smaller ones set up for sitting, eating, and conversation, as well as a few long tables covered with food and drink options.
The decorations were, of course, very manly. Candles hung, suspended on nothing, from the ceiling. Occasional fireworks in red and gold went off in a dazzling display. Letters - also in red and gold - were inscribed in the air:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIRIUS!
An old jukebox (Merlin knows where Lily found that) was sitting in the corner, charmed to play an assortment of Sirius' favourite songs. Large dogs, wolves, and stags - charmed out of smoke - cavorted around the party, disappearing into nothing only to burst into existence again across the room. Huge bowls of Wizarding crackers were on all the tables - when pulled, one might find a treat from Honeydukes, or a trick from Zonkos or, perhaps, be showered with a rain of dungbombs.
Instead of a cake there was an enormous, six-tierd tray of chocolate crepes. The food was composed of pretty much every traditional British item Lily could think of - from steak and kidney pie to pasties to treacle tart and everything in between. There was room for dancing, if the mood should strike, and plenty of places for the party goers to eat, drink, and be merry.
A few hours before the party, Lily sent off an owl to Sirius, inviting him to her room so she could make sure he got to the party at the right time. She also took that opportunity to give Sirius one of his gifts - a new broomstick.
Now, having made up some excuse that the mun isn't sure of, as that scene hasn't been RP'd yet to get Sirius to accompany her downstairs, Lily, arm through his, walked into the Great Hall. She looked up at him to see his reaction, a soft smile playing about her lips. "Surprise."
((OOC: Right, yeah, so...I guess this is just going to be in true time as opposed to forward dated. XD Yay RL! Anyway, I am just assuming that anyone who volunteered to help Lily set things up did so, unless I'm otherwise told ICly or OOCly. Feel free to throw any pups you like in the fray - it's all open and rather public, so even if they wouldn't know Sirius/go to a party/socialize with others, you have an excuse to have them happen along the free alcohol and food! Enjoy! Oh, and Sirius' entrance with Lily was ok'd by Siri-mun, just in case anyone wondered.))
