Dear Anya,

How wonderful to hear from you! It certainly has been a while. I have been doing rather well, all things considered, though really not something that requires much discussion. Life goes on, for the lack of a more suitable phrase.

Oh, I would love another meeting! The last one was lovely. And yes, I'm certain the dead boys of the school would appreciate the chance to speak with others like them. I think it is a wonderful idea. My, do you suppose that classroom will be large enough for them all? Perhaps you and I ought to meet up and discuss it?

Sincerely,
Emily.

Emily,

We should definitely get together and talk. I'm free anytime. Would you like to meet in "our" classroom and have tea? (The old password is probably still active, right?)

Anya

((We can RP the meeting right here if you want?))

Anya,

I certainly hope it is, otherwise I am completely at loss for what to do... We shall have to investigate! I'll find a House-elf, make certain we get some tea, and meet you there.

Emily.

Finding a House-elf was never a problem at Hogwarts. Tea and scones were on their way.

"Hopscotch." The door opened, to Emily's great relief, and she smiled to the statue of the woman as she brushed past it. "Thank you."

She entered the classroom. It looked just the same as the last time she'd seen it, at the first Dead Girls meeting. Emily smiled a bit fondly at the curtains. It was nice to be back here. She had rather missed it.

((Yeah, that works! I'm heading off to bed now, as I am utterly exhausted. But we'll finish it tomorrow?))

((Tomorrow works for me!))

Anya made her way to the classroom and stood in front of the statue. She thought she knew the password, but her mind had suddenly gone blank. It was some kind of children's game... "Tiddlywinks? Monopoly? Hide and seek? Dodge ball?" The statue just smiled at her. Maybe the password had expired? Wait, it had something to do with jumping, didn't it? "Leapfrog? Jump rope? Hopscotch?" Anya laughed as the door finally opened.

She entered and smiled to see Emily already there. "Hello!" She glanced around as she wandered over and sat down in one of their magically manufactured chairs. "I guess the house-elves can get in here to clean." As if to prove that, a house-elf entered with their tea.

Emily smiled back. "Oh, there you are! Good to see you. Yes, apparently they can." She let the House-elf place the tea-tray on the table in front of them, and gave the little crature a kind nod before it disappeared. "And it's a good thing too, otherwise we'd be knee-deep in dust..."

Tea was neatly poured into two cups, and Emily pushed one over to Anya. "So, a second meeting. Boys and girls." She paused. "Do you know how many dead boys there are at Hogwarts?"

"No, I'm not sure how many dead boys there are. But I've been told by several people that there are dead boys that might like to attend." Anya frowned as she thought of something else. "Do you know anything about people turning into popcorn?"

She picked up her tea, but it was still a little too hot to drink. "While I was exploring, I found a very strange room. Apparently people here will suddenly turn into kernels of popcorn and end up in that room. There's a plaque on the wall, and Ophelia and Primavera's names were on the plaque." Anya paused before adding quietly, "I think that means they're popcorn now."

"Pop...corn?" Emily began to shake her head, but then she paused. "I don't know. I do not recognise the word as anything I was used to when I was alive, but perhaps I have heard it mentioned around the corridors here."

She stirred her tea nervously, pouring milk into it. "What... what does that mean, exactly? Are they just... gone?"

For someone who had both died and moved on, Emily was surprisingly disturbed by this. Popcorn seemed so... undignified, and sudden, and peculiar. But since when was death rational?

Anya shrugged helplessly. "I don't know what it means. It's not something I've ever heard of before either. Maybe it's just symbolic - a kernel for each person that leaves Hogwarts?" Anya had been surprised that Xander's name wasn't on the plaque. She didn't want him to be a kernel of popcorn, but at least she would have been able to stop looking for him around every corner. "Or maybe they do turn into popcorn. I guess stranger things have happened around here. I heard people were turning into their costumes on Halloween."

She took a sip of her tea and smiled at Emily. "There are probably some new dead girls that have arrived since our first meeting. I guess we should put up some posters again?"

"Oh dear. That must have been quite a sight. Perhaps I should have poked my head into the Great Hall just to see that."

Emily's skeleton hand scratched against the china cup. She pondered these strange popcorn news and vowed to find that room herself. She didn't know exactly why she wanted to, but she did. Maybe to see if it resembled a graveyard in any way. There was a strange sort of peace in graveyards.

She nodded, snapping out of her reverie. "Oh yes, quite probably. And if I am not mistaken, there was one girl who could not show up the last time... Perhaps she is able to attend this meeting."

Emily tasted her tea, and then got out her wand, conjuring up a piece of parchment and a quill from thin air. She had practiced that trick countless times, and was pleased she had finally gotten it right.

"There we are," she said with a contented smile and began writing down what must be done. "More posters. We can get the House-elves to put them up for us." Them being in the boys' bathrooms just wasn't proper at all.

"I must have just missed the Halloween excitement, since I left the hall before midnight. I was wandering the halls, pretending to be a banshee." Anya took a bite of a scone, while Emily made notes.

"That's a good idea, using the house-elves." She smiled at Emily. "Do you want to do the posters again? You did such a good job last time." Anya looked thoughtful for a moment. "Since we already have the room ready, we could probably go ahead and pick a date for the meeting before we do the posters. Maybe sometime soon, before the Christmas season starts? I wonder how they celebrate Christmas at Hogwarts?"

"A banshee?" Emily inquired politely. "Did you have fun?"

She looked down, smiling shyly. "Oh, thank you. Well, I shall try. A date... Well, how about in seven days? December sixth? Or is that too soon?" She tickled her bottom lip with the quill. "I'd imagine Christmas would be rather spectacular. I mean, if Halloween was like that..."

"It was fun playing a banshee, but I didn't have much luck scaring anyone. I think most people here have seen things scarier than a banshee." Anya laughed a little. "Actually there are probably people here that are scarier than a banshee."

She picked up a napkin to wipe away the crumbs from the scone. "I never really celebrated holidays except when I was human. Apparently the best kind of Christmas is a White Christmas, but we never had those in California. I'm curious to see how different Christmas is just because there is snow on the ground."

Anya blinked, and returned to the topic at hand. "I think seven days is probably enough time. We don't have as much to prepare this time after all. Do you want some help with the posters?"

"I hardly remember Christmas back from when I was alive," said Emily a bit dreamily. "Just the food... and the lights..." She paused. "We celebrated it a little in the Land of the Dead. But Halloween was always the main event, as you can probably understand." She smiled a bit at the memory, and then her attention snapped back to the present.

"Some help would be lovely, thank you. What do you say about me taking the girl posters, and you taking the boy posters? Or the other way around, I do not really mind." Emily absently doodled some butterflies in the side margins of her notes. She still hadn't managed to kick that habit.

"Sure, I can make the poster for the guys. That sounds like a good plan. Do we want to do it the same as before? Ask people to sign up, and then send them an owl with the meeting information and the password?" Anya frowned. "I wonder if we should change the password for this meeting."

"Yes, why abandon a working concept?" Emily smiled and wrote it down. "We'll put up the signs as quickly as possible and wait for the owls to start arriving. And then once we're sure there won't be any more owls, we send out some of our own." She looked up at the password suggestion. "It would perhaps be safer to change passwords before every meeting. Do you have an idea for twhat the new one should be?"

"We could use 'Monopoly'?" Anya suggested. "It's my favorite board game. You get to collect lots of money and bankrupt other people."

She picked up the teapot to refill up her teacup, then held it up to ask if Emily wanted a refill. "So tell me what you've been doing? Have you been seeing your friend that was going to help with the posters last time?"
