Unabashedly pilfered from
missmelysse This was really fun, and it gave me two epiphanies!
First, I had one of those "you've come a long way, baby" moments when I realized I bolded both catfish/carp and foie gras. It's bizarre to remember we were so poor growing up that we caught and ate muddy carp from the San Gabriel River here in Texas. But perhaps that's what allows me to so thoroughly enjoy (albeit rarely) other luxuries, like the nine-course tasting menu at the lovely Driskill Grill in Austin. Thought for the day: How much mud do we need to ingest (or wallow in, or sling, as it were) before we truly appreciate the value of "clean" living?
My second epiphany was far less thought-provoking, and ran more along the lines of, "OMG, look how many foods I've tried-no wonder I'm fat!"
