Summary: Pansy needs to borrow Draco's notes. Draco agrees. That was his first mistake.
Draco had been marking up his potions notes from yesterday’s lecture for nearly two hours. His penmanship, letters normally full and tidy, resembled an endless line of Dolores Umbridge’s sharp scrawl. He blinked, shoving himself away from the corner desk, trudging over to the four poster bed, collapsing, his back sinking into the mattress. The husky, melodic notes of sleep nearly pulled him under until -
Pansy stood before him, exasperation etched in the lines of her forehead, reaching the corners of her mouth.
“Draco.” she whined, rather loudly, causing him to wince.
“Dray! Please? Come on, up with you!”
As she pleaded, he could sense her smirk, victorious. He aimed a pillow at her face, chucking it with as much strength as he could muster.
“All right, Pans,” Draco surrendered, opening his eyes to look at her. “What do you want? Oh, and don’t ever call me Dray again, are we clear?”
“Of course, darling,” Pansy drawled, her voice dripping with artificial sweetness. “Let me borrow your potions notes. I want - am studying with Granger. I did nothing in potions yesterday, because I was thinking of -. I have no notes. Be a dear and help me out, yeah?”
Draco smirked, stood, crossing his arms against his chest. “Why, miss Parkinson, I never thought I’d see the day - you, going to the library, willingly? he teased, placing his lips against her earlobe, whispering, “Finally letting bygones be bygones, I suppose?”
Pansy's reaction was priceless. Who was victorious, now?
“Have at them.” Draco shuffled back to his desk, tossing Pansy the notebook.
“I won’t bother waiting up for you.” he winked, before she stalked off, the door slam reverberating through the walls.
Except . . .
He gave Pansy the whole notebook.
In the bottom left hand corner, on page sixteen . . .
'Potter' was written in Draco's most elegant penmanship, 'P' and 'R' corners enveloped in tiny golden snitches.
Of course Pansy would read all of Draco's notes. She chuckled as she passed the notebook across the table to Hermione, pointing to the bottom left hand corner.
"I suppose my prediction was accurate, then." she mused, smiling, her eyes meeting Pansy's.
