Kamui, in a nutshell, is very protective of what he considers precious to him and possesses a fierce sense of personal belief. He will not listen to you if he senses that you are nothing more than a mere imbecile. He will not bother with you, unless he thinks that you are worth his time. And he will not ever sympathize with you, unless you deserve it - and even then, he will not share much emotion.
Generally characterized with cold air, he has a sharp heart beneath him, except to the single person that he wants to protect on his will - his twin brother, Subaru.
Kamui is closed and distrusting, but only appears to do this for a defense mechanism in order to protect what he must and protect himself as well. He may come off as intimidating and rash, but that very front is just another method of protection.
Kamui is also quick to adjust to circumstances, but his quick flexibility and adaptation is just as quick as his temper and irrational side. He has little tolerance and absolutely doesn’t give a chance to anyone that he believes capable of bringing danger to those that he is protecting. He doesn’t hesitate to fight, injure, or even kill anyone if he feels they are a threat.
Because of this, Kamui can be seen as cruel and selfish, as he doesn’t regard or take considerations for decisions that he makes, no matter how it may seem to others. The only exemption is when Subaru actually tells him to wait, and then he will wait.
Kamui isn’t fond of words. His actions speak more for him than anything else, especially by pulling the trigger. All though he is indeed powerful, at times it’s his own impatience and rash side that gets him into tight situations.
Though, in the end - his distrusting heart, stubbornness, and fierce belief on his stand are all just masks for his true heart. Like a lost child, he is confused. But all that he wants is simply the best for his precious twin; hence his undying determination to do what he thinks is right for him.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Kamui is a pure-bred vampire, hence giving him extraordinary senses, resistance, and abilities.
He has the strength to easily toss a mass that is larger than him, perhaps not incredibly so, but enough to toss a person taller than him.
He has the ability to lengthen his nails on will, and able to be used as weapons for offensive purposes.
He has self-healing powers that can allow him to be fully recovered within minutes, even if he lost a limb.
He has an immensely long life. But it is not true that vampires are immortal. He could die if you crush his brain, decapitate him, completely / severely stop the flow of blood in his body, or other methods to instantly kill a living being.
He is proven to move perfectly agile, possessing a unique form of martial arts. And he could even remain as agile in difficult environments such as underwater. He also seems to not need to breathe air much underwater.
He can read and communicate through people’s minds by a certain extent. One instance of this is when he could communicate with Syaoran and Fay without physically talking to them while they were underwater.
Due to his strong attachment to Subaru, his twin himself can also be the main source of his weakness, especially with a short fuse that Kamui has.
[ Other Important Facts ] :
Just as Kamui is extremely overprotective to Subaru, Subaru himself is protective of his twin - Kamui.
Kamui and Subaru paid an unknown price to Dimension Witch Yuuko in order for them to gain the power to cross dimensions together.
The reason for Kamui and Subaru to be constantly going to different worlds is that they are fleeing from a vampire hunter named Seishirou. What is only known in canon is that an incident lead for Subaru to give his blood to Seishirou. Since then, Seishirou had become obsessed with Subaru. Kamui, enraged, sees him as danger to his twin brother and will absolutely not allow Seishirou to ever find them. But Fuuma states that Kamui shouldn’t count on it.
Kamui briefly used a crossbow gun in the early part of the Acid Tokyo Arc, but his main weapon is his own self / his hands.
When Kamui uses his abilities as a vampire or is triggered by heavy emotion, his blue eyes become a blinding, sharp yellow.
His method of feeding or the pattern / frequency to feed is not mentioned in canon. However, even human-like resemblances (soulless human imitations, canonically called “E”) can be substitutes for a meal. I will set that his feeding date be every fourteen (14) days. Once passed the mark, his body will grow weaker, making his abilities and overall performance affected until he feeds.
As there has been no display or mentions of vampire fangs, Kamui most likely doesn’t have fangs like other vampires. Assuming so, then it’s plausible that he uses his own nails to create the injury or opening first before latching onto his prey.
Because Kamui doesn’t make direct contact with his prey, his vampire blood will not transfer unto the prey’s veins. Therefore, feeding will not make the said prey into a vampire. The only way for them to turn into a vampire is by receiving vampire blood itself, such as drinking it.

The only light in this area was coming from below, from that mysterious bubble - the same one that was imprisoning someone precious to him. Even though it had been two years now… with the said person only in his mind, the nightmares of yesterday kept returning to him. The memory was still fresh, as if two years had never gone by. But his longing kept becoming more and more painful as the days just blindly pass.
He reached out idly, not knowing that his present self was doing so. Over and over again, he was reminded of that scene… and his other worse regret. Was this his only extent to protect what he wishes to? Has he truly become this weak?
No, not yet.
Kamui’s eyes instantly turned into that blinding yellow, his eyebrows furrowed angrily as that arm that was reaching out suddenly clenched itself into a fist. He will not fail again. Kamui’s heart grew more wary and impatient as he continued to stare out. He lowered his arm and stood up, not removing his eyes from the glowing bubble.
“Subaru…” he uttered, as if a longing call. But he knew a reply will not come. He had to keep waiting… Even though he doesn’t know much longer he must. But even if that man came here now, he will ensure it. He will protect Subaru. He will kill that hunter.
