I enjoy stories that look at the aftermath of the wizarding war; you know that recovery would have been a lot more difficult and complicated than canon suggests. Your version is very clever and thoughtful, MA; I really like the ways that you've improved the magical world by adapting Muggle concepts and technologies. (And I'm so glad you point out the limitations of using only Quidditch as a source of physical exercise!) As for the participation of the ghosts and elves -- what a great idea!

Headmistress McGonagall swung her chair round (oh how she loved her swivelly chair
Ha! Reminds me of the Dowager Countess of Grantham and her swivel chair -- "Another modern brain wave?"

I totally adore the magical transcription/categorization methods Minerva enjoyed in her staff meeting. As a teacher who has spent endless hours sorting out lists on blackboards, I could definitely have used this!

[the library] being one of the few places not harmed in the battle thanks to the incredibly complex wards laid by the founders protecting the precious cargo of hundreds of years worth of knowledge
I love details like this one.

ensuring that should anything of importance be discussed in the staff room the head of the school could be made immediately aware thanks to the eavesdropping of the past leaders.
Yikes! Hogwarts as Big Brother.

I know I wouldn’t want to be back in with the children and treated the same after fighting a war. It changes you.
Excellent point, Pomona

Such a unique and creative story; thank you, MA!

I'm so glad you liked this, after I'd contacted you for a little advice everything just fell into place, so thank you!!

Oh 100% Lady Grantham vibes, scheming and fabulous.

I always thought there had to be a plausible reason for Dumbledore to seem like he knew everything and could be in the exact right place at the right time, I think this is just one of many explanations possible. We have, after all, given children sticks that have the power to cause immense mischief, I should hope they have good safeguards in place!! But then again, we muggles are fully trackable so why should wizards be safe?!
