wow, it really has been a long time...how ive missed you. i'm at angelo state having the time of my life! way better than tamucc with the exception of the beach and none of my friends from cc are here. but i dont miss the drama one stinkin bit, mostly because i have found some here. when im not in class, napping or junkin around on the internet, i spend close to 90% of my time with my friends. we have been to numerous movies, football games, basketball games, restraunts, parties over at megans and just some good ole hangin around time. i had a job as a babysitter last semester, it was alright...at first the kids were a pain, then at the end the mom...mostly because she was, i believe, unknowingly neglecting to pay me and then expecting me to do things as part of my job that i did for her as a favor without her asking me to. before i was to depart for Christmas break, she informed me she no longer needed my services as the grandma was quitting her second job and taking my place so she could save 350 a month. Christmas break was the best. my family, the mcgills and the cordonas all care-a-van-ed to chama new mexico, near the border of colorado. the first day there we went sledding down the bunny runs...tons of fun!...did some minor shopping in chama and played numerous card games. that night we drove to the neighboring town and saw the luminarias which lead us to a statue of the Virgin Mary. it was the coolest thing i'd ever seen. the next day was Christmas. we went into pagosa springs, colorado and saw the lion, the witch and the wardrobe and ate our Christmas dinner at tequilla's...a mexican food restraunt...mexican food definately sucks north of here anyway...(bowling for soup's song..). the next day my family went on a little road trip back to pagosa...then by my mothers exploration of the vistitors map, we went to chiminey rock...an original stop on the oregan trail and continued driving to durango. once there we went to wal-mart and ate at old tymer's cafe...whos signs resembled hard rock cafe. after we were done we turned around and headed the 3 hours back to chama. our last full day there was spent on the slopes. the entire trip i had had altitude sickness and when we got to the top of wolf creek it got worse, so needless to say i did no skiing...when i wanted to snow board in the first place...and froze to death waiting for my dad, brother and "brother" to finish their classes. the next day we began to head back home stopping at many historical sites...mother. we got to see the rio grande gorge, a place where the rio grande river used to heavily flow and the water "dug out" a path 800 ft deep with a bridge running across it. we then drove into taos, nm...home of the pueblo indians. we got to see the original adobe houses...one was 1000 years old. there was an old indian lady following us around inviting us to her new years party, telling us to name zeke hotdog...it was very amazing and interesting. finally that night we got into texas and almost ran out of gas...we luckily found a pay at the pump station that only the pumps were open, not the store. we stayed the night in amarillo, got up the next day and drove to the palodurro canyons. they were really cool. you could drive through them and see the different colors of the layers of rock...which i later found out represented the different periods in time...the miocene, triassic and i cant remember the other. after hours of traveling we finallllly arived home from our 20+ hour trip. baseball season has begun...and im so stoked! the steelers and the seahawks were in the super bowl yesterday...the steelers won 21 to 10...i was sad...i was going for the seahawks...they had cuter players on their team...
