Mission Trip

Just got back from big bend...from our mission trip...in the beginning of the week we went to carlsbad new mexico and were trying to get the youth involved back in church again...we held back yard bible clubs in two locations for 3 days and held 3 on 3 basketball tournaments for two days...we went door to door as soon as we got there handing out fliers for the kids to come to both...the first day we began bible clubs and no one was there...right as we were about to leave 3 little girls started to come our way...we began the vbs about an hour late and had a blast making all kinds of crafts telling stories from the bible and playing all those get to know you games...we wrapped that up and headed to a different location to have lunch...the state of new mexico offers free lunches to the kids durring the summer...so we went there to eat...then afterwards we went to play some basket ball...we had a great turn out..it was fun..yet tiring...we finished up, ate dinner then had our own worship/devotional time...when finished we each headed to our host homes for the night...the next day we had the same routine...only this time our vbs numbers doubled...wednesday we held vbs..then ate lunch...after we went to the carlsbad caverns...they were so amazing...i had so much fun there...the following day we packed up and said goodbye to our hosts and headed to big bend...i never knew there were mountains in texas until this trip...they were beautiful...mind boggeling...we got to camp...setup then went to sleep...the next day we got up early and went on a half day canoe trip...it was fun...we were in two different countries at the same time...when the canoe trip was over we went back to camp...relaxed...then my brother, michael and chris all had the brilliant idea to go mountain climbing...they went on their trek and they looked like little ants from the sidelines...they made it up the mountain and were on to a rocky part...you;d have to see the mountain to understand...my brother went to go up a boulder-like rock and put his hands on both sides in some little cracks and when he went to pull himself up the rock came out of the boulder and he fell and flipped and landed in the trees falling down through several trees that were luckily there to stop him...he broke one tree over the back of his leg that was a little bit bigger than making a circle with your hands touching finger tips to finger tips...i was so scared something happend to him and im soooo thankful that the trees were there to break his fall other wise we would have been coming back with one less kid...after that great debockal...and they finally got back we went on our own little hike to window falls...it was so gorgeous...words cant even describe it...youd have to see it for yourself...we headed home the next day and boy was i glad...get a shower...sleep in my own bed...i really had a blast on our trip and i believe it really brought me closer to Christ...it was so amazing just working with Him one on one...i hope all the kids we left behind in new mexico are influenced to be saved and to live by Christ...
