well, in the air that is. And with planes. Duh! ;)
I went flying model planes today with two other dudes I met in a model plane forum on the web and we spent a few hours moving our styrofoam funnies through the air.
Much fun was had, nothing got crashed, we all had a blast and the weather was nice to us - until we packed up. Minutes after that a big thunder storm started and lasted for hours. Excellent timing.
I flew my newest plane, a "MiniMag" as well as my trusty old Easystar and the guys were mightily inpressed with the scale look of the small Cessna-Lookalike as well as its taxiing ability on the ground and my landings on a rather rough unpaved way.
That's what it looks like:
I also flew my Easystar, the electric glider, which one of those guys also built. Fun times!
The guy managed to snag a picture of our planes all stacked up in the air, when we were all flying the e-gliders. The one guy also had a helicopter with him. Impressive I've got to say.
In other news this friday I'll head to France for this years "Guy vacation", doing my yearly Bunkertour. Together with my friend Robert we will explore the bunkers and fortifications around Omaha Beach , as well as check out a bunch of museums and (yes yes I know) some locations where Saving Private Ryan was shot. Oh and we will do camping, have BBQ twice and in general expect a fun three days. Only drawbacks are driving 1600km in three days, a seriously packed and tight schedule and we expect rain on one day. Bummer.
