i should get some new pictures...

these are from 4 or 5 years ago. sad, i'm getting old.

things are going marginally well. nothing spectacular, but nothing to complain about.
okay, thats not true. i can ALWAYS find something to complain about.

but nothing outstanding. nothing glaring that just needs to be bitched about. i'm sure if i thought for a few seconds i could come up with something, but lets just not go there.

the holidays went well. better than i expected, actually. the family unit was fully functional, and even seemed to enjoy spending some time as a group. i went a little overboard in spoiling them, but i suppose thats what happens when i have a little expendable income and feel guilty about not spending a whole lot of time with them.

i got some fabulous gifts:
the sims, which i have since been addicted to. main problem is that i created both my and marks characters, with the hopes of getting us to 'date'. things were going well, until mark purchased a heart shaped hot tub, which he invited my character to use. upon entering the hot tub, mark tried to cuddle with me, which i apparently hated, and now we're not on speaking terms. fucking sims.
i also got a fishtank (which will be awesome provided brian doesn't freak out and cause a disaster), personal training sessions at the gym (which will be awesome because i'm getting pretty bored with the elliptical machine), and some random movies and gift cards, including a to express so that i can update my wardrobe for school next fall. we're not talking about new jeans and cute sweaters here, we're talking about business wear - dress pants, skirts, button ups, vests, and blazers.
thats right - i got into the University of St. Thomas MBA program.
now i'm just waiting for some financial aid info, to see if i'm going to have to go the full 45 grand into debt. yuck.

i have officially discontinued bartending at the DP - barring some major incident, i will no longer sling margaritas and free chips. praise the lord. now i'm just the bar and scheduling manager. its easy work, i'm on my own schedule aside from a few actual shifts a month, and it pays my truck payment.

GC has introduced me to an entirely new level of bartending - one where you don't hate 95% of your customers, and where 95% of your customers aren't cheap white trash. it's amazing. aside from a few recent (but small) drama filled incidents and one mostly incompetent co-worker, i'm actually enjoying it. turns out, i'm pretty good at it too - not like thats a big surprise, since i'm pretty good at just about everything i do.... haha, just kidding. okay, not really kidding. but yeah.

i think i'm done. one can only handle so much 'catching up' at a time. next time will be more amusing, i promise.
