well mom made it to Chicago.
several hours later, and a few wrong turns. (all because Enterprise screwed her over with an already confirmed reservation.)
Now, after having enjoyed her music concerts and seeing more roadwork then she had planned to, she's having to deal with a ticket from the local constabulary. Apparently, at 2am, in a rented car, with canadian plates, ANY infraction ... this includes being stopped at a light/stop sign, with the front of your car ever so slightly forward of a whiteline (which can't be seen in WHITE snow) warrants a peice of paper and counts as a traffic infraction.
Damn, this trip has gone from $500 to $1,000 all because of these tribulations. Ugh. some "i need a 'me' break" trip this has turned out to be for her!
And she still has to get back home across the border! *shakes head frustratedly*
