This weekend was... interesting.
Kicked things off by hanging out with my teammates friday night, watching some playoff hockey, playing poker and getting totally drunk off my ass. Seriously, I dont think I've ever been that wasted in my life. The truly hilarious thing is that despite being fall-off-the-chair wasted, I still WON at poker, beating several sober folks. Jimmy, who was nearly as drunk as I (seeing as we were in something of a contest all night, despite the fact that he easily has 75 pounds advantage on me and was taking all his drinks with ice) ended up taking 2nd. I really dont remember a single hand I played all night. Spent most of the AM hours either passed out or communing with the porcelain god and crashed in the guest room. Finally gathered enough fortitude to drive home around 10am, though it took two stops along the way and I spent the rest of the afternoon (til 6pm or so) in bed.
Thereafter I decided the best way to recover from hangover and severe dehydration was to go play hockey with Scott and his friends, so I met them at RDV for pickup at 9. Then I somehow ended up kinda.. going out with Scott to dinner and a movie? It was a lot of fun but I'm honestly not sure what to think. Nothing happened (unfortunately.. *grin*), but I dunno.. Got home around 3am and promptly returned to bed.
Sunday was pretty lazy and I spent the morning watching a movie I downloaded (Reign of Fire) and giving the dog some much-needed attention, before dragging myself to practice. We did skating drills for about 30 minutes and then brought on a couple guys Jenny invited for us to scrimmage against for the next hour.
Here I am, wearing my Spitfires jersey (as I frequently do in practice), when the guy lining up against me says:
"hey, nice jersey! I played for them!"
....
Yes, this is what I really want to hear, when a guy is like 8ft tall and squared up right in front of me.. To make matters better, I get to the bench after my shift and Jeanie tells me he plays for the Seals. Yay for playing against pro players! Even low-level ones! *grin*
But it was still an extremely fun scrimmage (we lost 8-2 or some such thing) and I had a goal. I also made a glorious diving block, which the Spitfires/Seals guy said was awesome and offered me a beer for. LOL Kevin seemed happy with my play too. I took a couple shifts at D (and never got scored against!), which was nice- I'm quite serious about wanting to switch to D sometime in the future. We'll see how it goes.
Looks like I'll be getting a new cell phone sometime in the next couple weeks, and will likely have to change my number as well because my parents are upgrading our family plan and apparently they no longer allow different area codes to be on the same plan. :( Hopefully I dont lose any of my phonebook (as I'll have to change SIM cards and all that as well) but I'm going to try and write all the numbers down before I switch just in case (as I dont have most of them recorded anywhere else!). Will be a real pain changing my number on all my bills and stuff, not to mention making sure everyone gets it. *sigh*
Lots to do, so out for now!
