Well I just recently returned from a trip to see my folks in VA. During the trip I came upon a book at their place that was written by a person who lived in Cooperstown. Apparently this man interviewed my grandfather and some other folks a number of years ago about what they got up to when they were kids in 1930. Well some of the info about what my grandfather did in the 30s has intrigued me and I am going to do some research and perhaps a little writing about what I discover. A local paper in Cooperstown has even said they would be interested in publishing an article about it if I would like.
So this is one of my new years resolutions, and I think it is an attainable one. Write an article about what my grandfather got up to when he was a kid and why it intrigues me so. Unfortunately, since my grandfather passed away in 1999 and most of the folks from that period are not alive any more, I am left relying on research from the New York State Historical Association. This is going to be interesting. :)
