How I met your Mother

Does it seem cruel to anyone else that Ted on how I met your mother still hasn't found the one after 7.5 seasons of looking for the one.  He's 34 or 35 now.  Couldn't the show carry on once he meets the mother?

My friends and I talk about this at length and we're in consenus that the show must end once he meets the mother. After all it's the title and general point of the show.
