Whoa, I found a minute when I'm not going in a million different directions. This is new, lol. This summer has been awesome so far, where do I start?
The last week of school was cool, I only had to go 3 of the 5 days, because I exempted my bio exam and only had to take pre-calc. I might've taken bio instead, but I didn't because of my pre-calc grade. Beechay told me I had a 99.6 going into the exam, but that she would keep it at a 99 on my report card because she doesn't round up to 100. Grrr. So I wanted to take the exam to get my 100, but I figured out that I needed a 102.7 on it to get 100 in the class (you can get up to a 111 on Beechay's final). I was so nervous, but I got my report card the other day and she gave me the 100, so I'm happy. :-D
Graduation was that Friday night, and it was the first time they've ever held it in front of the school (instead of at the stadium). I thought it worked out really well, and the stage was beautiful. It was a nice setup, the only thing is that the seats could have been raised to make it easier to see.
I was excited, Kayla invited me to go, and I was supposed to meet Amanda there to sit with, but she turned off her phone. I ended up sitting with Mrs. Yacowatz (spelling?). Anyway, it worked out ok, I guess, afterward I found Kayla and her mom, and we went back to her house for a little party. It was mostly family, but after they left, a couple of us stayed until almost midnight just talking. It was a good time, I'm glad she invited me.
From the middle of May until the middle of June, the field hockey clinic was going on, and I coached for my senior project. It worked out relatively well, I guess. I got partnered with Kayla on the purple team (YAY!!! lol). Unfortunately, the couple of times Kayla did come, she usually got sent to another team because people decided they weren't going to come. *rolls eyes* Oh, well, such is life. But I did have a good group of girls, they all cooperated; there were a few that really seemed to like it, and I think they'll play in junior high. (Yay, we have recruits!!) Plus, I'm now pretty much done with my senior project, I'll just need about 10 more hours through the summer with the younger girls. The only thing is, now junior high conditioning is the same time as high school, so I'll probably have to help during pre-season, if the new coach doesn't mind. Oh, well, I'll figure it out.
The week after school let out was spent cleaning, packing, and doing a million other things to get ready for Disney, plus Josh's all-star baseball was starting for the summer. We're hosting the northern half of the 9-10 tournament this year, plus sectionals for the 11-12's, so I'll have had enough of baseball by the time it ends in August.
Anyway, we left for Disney on a Friday night at 6. We were driving in 2 campers (one was the Rossi's and one we borrowed from their neighbors who now live in FL), which worked out pretty well space-wise, although I was disappointed that I wasn't in Mr. Weaver's camper. But it's ok, the way home worked out well. So anyway, we left at 6pm, and we drove through the rest of PA and the whole of Delaware without any problems. Once we hit Virginia, we were screwed. For the borrowed camper, we had to stop about every 100 miles (or less) to fix this or that, to buy transmission fluid, everything. Of course, some of these stops were awesome. We stopped at a Flying J (a truck stop) in Virginia at 1 in the morning to fix something, and a couple of us got out of the camper and started doing the chicken dance. Then we did the hokey pokey. And a guy in a van almost ran us over as he was pulling out. Good times. Anyway, it took us 27 hours to get to Florida, we got to Fort Wilderness at 11pm on Saturday night, and then had to set everything up. Haha, fun stuff.
Our first day we went to Downtown Disney and ate at the Rainforest Cafe, then we went to Typhoon Lagoon. That was fun, I really liked Crush 'n Gusher, and we took a picture with the alligator made of "sand," lol. Then we went back to the campground to swim.
On the next day, Monday, we went to Magic Kingdom in the morning and MGM in the evening. (We had the park hoppers, so we came back to the campground every afternoon for a meal.) For those staying right in Disney (aka - us!!), they have "Extra Magic Hours" (their term, not mine), where each night, a different park is open later than usual but only people staying in a Disney Resort can come. That night, it was MGM, and I rode Rockin' Roller Coaster at 1 AM! :-D They also got me on the Tower of Terror (God knows how). I was scared out of my mind, but I survived.
Tuesday morning was our YES program (because we went as Girl Scouts). It was a lot of improv techniques, and most of us weren't really into it, plus we had gotten back really late the night before, so we were really tired. It was ok, I guess, but not exactly our forte (with an accent on the "e"). We came back for a couple hours, and most of us took a nap, then later we went back to MGM. That night it poured. I mean, poured, lightning and everything. It was awesome. :-D We were soaked, and then went on an air conditioned ride and froze, but it was ok.
Wednesday, our 4th day, was spent mostly at Animal Kingdom. It was ok, nothing earth-shattering. Dinosaur and the Primeval Whirl were neat, and the Tarzan Rocks! show was awesome. Later we went back to Magic Kingdom for a bit of shopping (as much as Mrs. Rossi would allow) and time on our own (well, 2 groups of girls without adults, for about 2 hours). I think it was this night that we (or some of us) rode Space Mountain at 2 AM. That was really cool.
On Thursday we got up early to go to Magic Kingdom and meet the characters. We were all exhausted, but I got to kiss Goofy, so it was ok, lol. Then later we went back to MGM to see the Fantasmic light show. It was amazing, there's no way to describe it but absolutely awesome.
Friday was our last day. We went to Epcot in the morning for a while, but had a slight, um, disagreement about where to go in the afternoon. Rossi's (all 5) and Nicole wanted to go back to MGM to ride more, and everyone else wanted to go to Downtown Disney to shop (since we weren't really allowed to shop that often up until then). Mrs. Rossi got pissed, and we were originally going to split up (have the Weaver's take the rest of us shopping while the Rossi's went to MGM) but then Vanessa and Nicole said they didn't mind going either place, so they decided not to split and Mrs. Rossi spent the rest of the day in a bad mood. After downtown, we were back to the campsite, and then back to Epcot for the evening. We had gotten fast passes earlier for Soarin', Test Track, and Mission:Space. They were all amazing. Yes, I did ride Mission:Space, and I honestly did not think it was all that bad, although I can't understand why a mother would put her 4 year old with a medical condition on it. *rolls eyes* People are stupid. But yes, I did ride it (twice, actually, because some in our group didn't want to use their fast passes) and I am still alive. YAY! lol. :-D
Disney was a lot of fun, but living with people for 10 days can really get to you. I think the only people on that trip I wasn't tired of by the end were Mr. and Mrs. Weaver and Julie. Our sleeping space wasn't exactly ideal, there were 11 of us sleeping in a trailer that, though air conditioned, was only about 12 ft. x 9 ft. I slept on my side, up against the wall every night. These arrangements caused some problems, especially because Crystal (by no fault of her own) is a very heavy sleeper and tended to roll on Nicole. The one day, Nicole flipped out at Crystal (for not much of a reason, in my opinion), and Crystal decided that she ruined her whole trip. Oye, vae, girls. *rolls eyes*
Anyway, on Saturday, we had to get up early to take down the tent, load everything in the camper and trailer, clean up the campsite, and check out by 11.. Then, because we were having so much trouble with the other camper, we had to leave it somewhere (a Wal-mart parking lot, I believe) for the owners to pick it up, and we rented a car to take home. Mr. and Mrs. Weaver were in the car, along with 3 girls at a time. We were supposed to rotate every gas stop, and Julie, Tiff and I were the second round of girls, but the next girls would have been in there all night, because we wouldn't wake people up to switch cars. Tiffany wanted to get out, but Julie and I were having a good time, listening to music with the Weaver's and that, so we volunteered to stay in the car if it was only the 2 of us, so we could have more room to sleep. We actually spend most of the night listening to the Beatles, Billy Joel, and other classic rock, and complaining about the Rossi's. It was good to know that the Weavers and Julie shared my views on their "family vacation with us along for the ride", Mr. Rossi's hygiene and missing shirts, and their PDA. So Julie and I spent from 4 in the afternoon Saturday until 9 in the morning Sunday in that car (when we had to return it), and loved it. :-D
And that was Florida. It was fun, but I was also glad to come home. Oh, and I have vowed not to take a group trip (of that size) for longer than a long weekend, lol.
And now I am back, busy with this and that, and Josh's baseball. My birthday's coming up, so we'll see what I'm doing for that. I have to read the book for my permit test too. And there's hockey practice. I really need to get in shape. Of course, later I'm running with Lauren and some other girls from the hockey team through the cross country trail from the high school to Community Park and back. It should be interesting, but Lauren promised to run slow. :-P
Haha, last night, Josh had an all-star game, and they beat Freeland, so we were supposed to have a swim party, ("we [they] win, we [all of us] swim"). Well, the storms held out long enough to play the game, but at LaRose's we had thunder, lightning, and pouring rain, so we couldn't swim. I spent most of the time talking to Al and Sam, and the boys played manhunt outside when the rain lightened a bit. But then Grant came and splashed me, so I chased him outside into the rain, and before I knew it, we were all chucking wet stuffed footballs at each other and tackling each other. I was drenched and had a white shirt on. But it was an awesome time nonetheless, mostly because it was so incredibly stupid. LMAO! It was a good time.
Well, I'm going to go get ready to run, ugh, lol. More another time.
