7000 miles!
Sigh. *Smacks head* Must be better about updating. Thinking about what to write is not the same as doing it.
Sooooooo. We took a nearly three week vacation out west and put a whopping 7000mi (11,200k) on my vehicle. It was simply amazing. Calgary is awesome as usual. BC is fast becoming my very favorite state/province. Washington state was very different visually than I expected (I'd only ever been to Seatle) and I could see living in the Spokane/Coeur D'Alene area. Not so fond of Utah though. Sorry. The mountains in Colorado were spectacular. Now I know why she loves Denver so much. It reminds me of a larger Calgary. To her, I guess it feels like home. The first 6000mi were fun. The last 1000mi were long and agonizing. We slept in the back of the Escape (the dogs slept in the front seats) at truck stops to save money, since the high gas prices ate up all our money. I wanted home. I wanted my bed. I really really really wanted a shower.
I got home and all hell broke out. Massive reorg happened the week I got home. A lot of people I enjoyed working with have already left or are getting ready to leave. I still have a job, but I'm just not sure of how it's all going to shake out.
The good news is that my training is going well. My long runs are up to 8 miles and I've lost nearly 20 pounds. Yea me!
