You must choose.

At this point I've given written notice to my current employer that I will be leaving on July 12th. I also signed papers on my offer of employment with for my new job. So everything is secure for me as far as employment.

Fontzepontze calls me yesterday and asks me if I can get cut out of work on Thursday (today) . He was contracted to be the spokesman for this "Pimps and Hoes 2002" party event / concert that is going on at the Roostertail on Friday July 5th by a friends of ours who is the promoter of the event. He wants me to dress up as his "bodyguard" and video tape while he appears on the 97.1 Kramer and Twitch radio show to talk about the event. For the appearance at the staion today, they're getting taken to the station in a Rolls Royce Limo, first to Tycoon's "Adult Entertainment" club to pick up some dancers who will accompanying him and the promoter in the Limo to the radio station. Then they're supposed to stop at the other BT's strip clubs and some other clubs as well.

So, I'm stuck. I can't call in to work sick, since at this point they could easily tell me not to bother to come back in (which, I'm told is a common practice for this company). I really need to keep my employment here through Jul 12th, because I am moving this month as well. I have to pay my rent for the month of July on my current apartment and also the first months rent on my new apartment at the same time. Also, my pay check for my new company will be delayed by a week because they work on a bi-weekly pay schedule. I'll be starting on July 15th and I won't get a paycheck until August 9th. Yikes!

So, I woke up this morning and decided that the responsible and reasonable thing to do was not to risk it and go into work. Fontzepontze called me a few moments ago and said that they were just about to leave the strip club and the limo and women were incredible. Dammit, Dammit, Dammit, Dammit.

Never getting to have any fun,

Hch
