Christ be saved

The St. Patrick’s Day blowout was pretty fantastic. A lot of people who were there for Easy Action or there to drink it up in a genuine punk dive bar got to see Chapstik pretty much at the top of our game. Leighton heard from the bar personnel that it was the most people they’ve had there at the 2500 Club since it opened a year or so ago. I was genuinely surprised at how “into” what we were doing everyone seemed to be. Dan told me later that the show Chapstik did without me when I was in Ireland was similarly well received. This is probably the 6th or seventh show with John on Drums and he seemed genuinely amp’ed up at how well the show went. Perhaps Detroit is starting to catch on to what we’re doing? I dunno. I can never predict these things.

Easy Action was fucking awesome, but not quite as tight as the last time I saw them in December, 2005. It seemed like that hadn’t practiced in awhile, so everything was really loose -- but even playing sloppy as fuck they still had it together. Harold’s guitar tone is fucking bad as hell, and the drummer beats the fuck out of his drums. Brannon is just a fucking freak of nature. I don’t know how he does what he does or where it comes from, but it ain’t healthy or holy but it sure is awesome.
