A fannish meme from astrogirl2:

In the past, memes like this have always resulted in wicked plot bunnies, so:

If you give me one or more titles of stories I didn't write (optional: pairings or other details), I'll give you a summary of the nonexistent story.

"According to the Imperial Spoo Chef"

Upstairs, the Prime Minister has arrived with a new bodyguard by his side. Downstairs, the servants talk - and no one is considered more of an authority on the scandal than the spoo chef, who has to cook for them both. Londo/G'Kar.

"Londo Mollari and the Death of Civility"

Centuries after Londo Mollari's disasterous reign, academics convene on what becomes ISN's most downloaded program in history to debate the man and his legacy. Fireworks erupt when one historian makes a controversial claim. Londo/G'Kar.

"Technomages - Too Emo for Me"

Vir Cotto was pretty sure he'd never see a technomage again - they did make themselves quite clear when they said they would not return. But when one of his children expresses a serious interest in joining their number, the aging emperor is thrust into the world of magic and illusion once again - and it is not an altogether pleasant affair.

Now that I've written that summary, I'm not sure I would use your title, because that's actually a serious idea. But ( ... )

I love it. The third one is especially brilliant! Can I take your comment in tiny text to mean you would consider writing it?

But, but, but! *bites on her techno-mage trilogy fannishness*

(And here's a question: Why don't I have a Crusade icon?)

Don't worry. Jokes and grumbles aside, I don't have any intention of ignoring the techno-mage trilogy and the issues brought up therein. Nor do I have any intention of treating the mages less than fairly. But I do intend to stay true to the somewhat tense relationship I see between Vir and the mages in the LoF novels as well. So, you know, hopefully a balance will come out. And if not, you can point out where I've gone astray. ;)

Bashers suck. :-P

Before I respond to this, I'm trying to decide if that last line was directed towards me.

Nope. It was a general fandom comment.

I wasn't sure--I didn't think my comment could have provoked that, but I've gotten atypical responses to things I thought were innocuous before, so I thought I'd ask.

It's possible I've been spending too much time reading comms like fanficrant.

If I wanted to say something snarky to you, I would've been upfront about it. See also: one of the only wanks I've ever embraced. No subtlety there. That's not my thing.

"Bashers suck" was my cheery response to what I read as a fear that I intended to portray the technomages as all-around asshats because I personally don't like them very much. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Aha! This is the source of my confusion--I was protesting because
as things stand or stood with Crusade and the novels, the techno-mages were due to die out, not being able to get any more of their tech--which now that I think about it isn't an obstacle to one of his kids wanting to be one, just, y'know--actually becoming one
.

Regarding the contents of *spoiler*: ah, yes, as I said, I will address that. Which is why I'm not writing the story now. Because, you know, I have to think up how I'm going to do that. ;)

I just like the techno-mage trilogy well enough to have written (but not posted, yet) extensive meta on it and done massive speculation over it and Crusade, which makes me a minority in the fandom, I know--but doesn't stop me from wanting to go, "But it doesn't--!" whenever I see someone ignoring those books. I honestly think if the show had continued I wouldn't be this obsessed, but since it didn't my, "But... wait. WAAAAAAIT. YOU DIDN'T ANSWER--COME BACK HERE," instincts kicked in, and... well, doom. And strangling my urges to object to infeasible plots.

In my youth, I was not a canon nazi, I swear.

I don't have any intention of ignoring the techno-mage trilogy and the issues brought up therein. Nor do I have any intention of treating the mages less than fairly.

I keep thinking he would have fixed that, some how--allowed them to continue on in some form--but as to how?

I got nothin'. Except the dead-certainty it would have been one of Crusade's subplots. *fistshake at sky*

But I do intend to stay true to the somewhat tense ( ... )
