"Wake up Jesus! IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY!!"
Done wit' finals, which is splendid. Got a week off until I start up some boring assed classes during the summer semester.
So, some recent developments at the Burrow: Jen and I hear over the baby monitor Violet wailing upon waking up from her nap, like she's hurt or sommat, and I rush down just in time to see her standing up in her crib and holding on to the railing, and she...is...bawling because she does not know how to get out of the standing position without falling down. Absolutely surprised at the sight, I yell out "VIOLET!" which surprises her, causing her to fall on her bottom. So the lady not only can crawl anywhere she wants, she has learned to pull herself up to stand. She'll be walking soon. It's absolutely crazy how fast she is growing. AND SHE'S GOT FOUR TEETH NOW!! All three-or-less toothed, non-standing, non-crawling babies are in for it now.
So Pooka finally did what I supposed he was gonna start doin' since we started keeping them in the laundry room downstairs. He got into the heating duct. The crazy bastard got into a crawlspace near the ceiling, bent down a lip of the duct paneling and slipped in. Jen and I realized this when we heard a series of loud banging from the air duct in Violet's room and heard a bunch of meowing. It took about an hour if freaking out until we finally got him out. I had to use a steel rod to bend the lip back down (since it flapped back into place once Pooka got into it), and use his fetaher toy to lure him out. The dood...was...filthy. I hope he had fun cleaning himself off, the bastard.
On a happier note, it is a time for celebration, as today is my Baby's 25th berfday, and very Happy BERFDAY to MAH BABY, indeedy. Tonight, we are getting lom-basted to some terribly dreary yet terribly dancy music at Luna, which is some good fun we have both been looking forward to for a loooooong time. It came at the end of a good week too, since Jen has had to deal with standardized testing (for kindergart'ners no less) all week, and I've just finished with a series of long-assed papers and finals. Also hoping to see some old friends there tonight and have good times all around.
