I'm enjoying my job I think. But I'm kind of annoyed right now because we're supposed to get paid this last Friday, and apparently the direct deposit didn't work because my bank account isn't any bigger. And I can't afford to wait much longer for money. Everyone at my job is cool, I don't think theres one person I don't like. I also found out that I'm the only itern to get real work, and not bitch work. The other iterns are working on mimicking a GUI that they have pictures of, and it doesn't need any functionality... it just needs to look the same.
On the other hand I'm given a picture of a world map, with selections on it, they need to be clickable, each maps to a nautical chart. Apparently these files are huge, you can only select up to 4 at a time, and then the program has to confirm the selection, find the files, and copy them to a database (with a progress bar and you're allowed to cancel), and hard link them (basically a shortcut) to a current directory, which have to be read from an xml config file. Its pretty hard, I'm almost there. Programming it in C++ and .net is a pain in the ass. This picture made me think of my job.
We can pretty much do what we want. It rules. Also this made me really sad.
