Whoa...it's been awhile. So I just wanted to update about bands...
Tool: "10,000 Days"
If you haven't heard it, go listen. The guys are so damn genius. A lot of religious ties in the music. For a while I thought that Maynard had converted to being a Christian. Listen to the lyrics again. In the song, "10,000 Days", it's very deceiving because you hear major phrases that you would think result to him having faith. I have thought of my own ideas after tedious listening. Lyrics are never posted in Tool albums, so it soaks in for deep understanding. Amazing album though. Not their best however. I almost think that "Aenima" would pass up this one. It's still very original, of course, and loaded with genius work.
Between the Buried and Me: "The Anatomy of..."
Loaded with cover songs. They do one of Pantera and Metallic...and I pray that those bands hear it because BTBAM ripped it up. Holy shit, is the album amazing. Check it out. They do a cover of Queen, "Bicycle Race". fj8e;ajjra83!!!! Listen to the vocals. Do it. Tell me that this band isn't talented and God will probably strike you down because the vocal range on Tommy is ridiculous.
Glass Casket: "Desperate Man's Diary"
Sweet album. It's fucking Glass Casket c'mon. Dustball rips it up pretty hardcore in this album. If you happen to check it out or want a sample...song number one and four are really good. Haven't really got into it to compare "Desperate Man's Diary" to "We are Gathered Here Today...", but it's definately more technical.
The Acacia Strain: "The Dead Walk"
Heard of "3750"? Yeah, it's the same shit pretty much. A little bit more raw. The repetitive shit is pretty ehh, but it's still a good album. It's nothing to be too excited about, I wouldn't get it unless I had some extra cash.
Dragonforce
I was told about Dragonforce by a friend, and I didn't get to check them out until last night on Headbanger's Ball. I don't give a shit what you say, the fucking riffs in the music are out of this world. It's like a 5 minute guitar solo every song. The voice is pretty hilarious, but I think I'll get use to it.
Protest the Hero
Not too crazy about the singing, but I'll get use to it. Everything else is fucking...woi3rj;elj OMG. Let me tell you...this shit is badass. Guitar riffs up the asshole and drums to knock down your walls. I don't think I'd crave listening to it, but it is a good buy if you see it.
