well folks. here i am in costa rica. at the moment im staying at the aguila de osa inn on the osa peninsula. tis fun here. first day in, we stayed at this really fancy hotel in San Jose. we left the the next day and went to Tortuguerro and stayed at the Tortuga lodge. nice place. they gave us these nice little drink thingies as soon as we got off the boat. one night there we went out to the nearby beach at midnight in the middle of a thunderstorm (smart, ain´t we?) and watched a turtle nesting. next day we went kayaking. that was fun. except on the way back it started pouring with rain, so i couldn´t see as my glasses got fogged up and covered in rain. crap. i lost my train of thought. oh yeah. then we got on one of those little propeller deathtrap planes, flew to idk where, got off the plane, walked maybe 50 feet to a hangar, waited around in a little office, got picked up by the tourist company, drove a quarter of a mile down the road to ANOTHER slightly biggr death trap plane. the funny thing was, as we were pulling up, they were filling it with one of those little Penzoil bottles. It was a four seater, there´s five of us, so i got to sit in the copilot´s seat. that was fun right up until we had to land, because we had to land on a little unpaved strip that the PILOT oculdn´t evn see until another little deathtrap plane took off.
The landing was kinda freaky cause it looked like we were about to crash into either the trees or the little fence at the end of th runway, nevermind the fact it was on the beach pretty much. so thn we got in a land rover, drove a couple miles, got out of the land rover, got in a boat and finally got to the hotel, where im writing this. we leave tomorrow for San Jose so this is the last access ill have to the internet until i get home. so yeah, once i got here, we went kyaking again, went snorkeling off of one of the islands nearby, and went on a bug hunt.
The snorkelling was fun. There were fish all over the place. The ones i saw the most were these huge blue ones and these littl tiny blue ones. The guide lady showed led us out about and showed us three sharks, which was bad for me cause sharks for me are like spiders are for Missie and Aly. The bug hunt was pretty cool. we saw a bunch of frogs and lizards. We also saw a couple trapdoor spiders (th ones that dig a hole, make a covering ove it and pop out to grab a bug when it walks by). I also saw one big spider about th size of my thumb nail and the guide showed us little spiders no bigger than this period.
The only downsides so far is I have a sunburn on my shoulders/upper arms, which is painful because I can´t sleep unless im on my right side, and i got a major rope burn on my left hand from the Tarzan swing they have here. Other than that, this vacation is geat. well, im gonna go now cause i can´t think of anything to write. I miss you and I love you and I´ll see everybody soon.
