The mood indicator (annoyed) is from a work matter. Maybe I could get a better word count if I did that work-based idea after all. Certainly have the inspiration/ fuel for it now.
Anyway, last night was pretty awful. So awful in fact that in the midst of a scene, the following happened (and since I am a word count whore, I kept it. It's fiction; the voices really aren't telling me what to do, so I say it counts):
Giles did not reply. Instead he wondered why the author cannot think straight and give him decent lines tonight. Maybe she needs a drink of something a bit stiffer than coffee.
“See here, woman, you can’t just make up an abstract theme and make your people discuss it like theologians. If you want people to buy that these characters are really struggling with responsibility and letting other people make their own choices, and guilt at sending children to their deaths, you are going to have to do a Lot Better Than That.”
“All right. What would you suggest?”
“Go get that stiff drink, first. I’ll be waiting here when you get back. You really do need to finish this story, you know. You’ll probably hate me for it, but I think you need to back up to the interior of the spell and start again, and have Ethan betray/ act like himself a bit, unable to help himself in the face of temptation.”

“All right, ready?”
“No. Not in the least. Maybe I should switch back to something that’s fresher in my mind, like petunia and snape, or lucius and snape. Or read DH again for Lucius/ Narcissa. What would they have against him? Or Pansy Parkinson?
