What a Difference a Week Makes

Jan 28, 2011 21:27

After a really productive time, I had a misadventure with my littlest daughter resulting in badly sprained fingers and no knitting or crochet for most of the last week! I did pick up the Simple Sheffield Socks and do a little more on them this morning, but that's been mroe or less IT for creative stuff this week!

I am getting quite excited about the Guild Wars that are due to start on Tuesday in the Ankh-Morpork Knitters Guild over on Ravelry - no idea what projects I'll be making for it as the first challenge hasn't been revealed yet. I have flagged a few projets, and mentally assigned yarn from stash for them in the hopes that they may fit the criteria, but I'll just have to wait and see!

In a similar vein, I'm also doing a Pratchett re-read/ReadALong in the same forum, partly to get inspired and partly to hope for ideas for my own Pratchgan. Having already made a Colour Of Magic Square, and a Light Fantastic Square, I think I'm going to do new ones! I feel more inspired at present, and am making notes of my ideas, so even though I haven't been actually knitting/crocheting, I've been coming up with ideas. I'm thinking the Burning of Ankh-Morpork may decide my colours, and I am also thinking about thumbs and tentacles. For Light Fantastic I think I want something more Octavo based, perhaps the words appearing in rainbow colours, apart from the mispronounced muddy sludgey coloured one. We'll see!

And that's about it for now. I'm trying to keep updating a little more this year (for my own benefit!) and so far I've managed much *much* better than last year!!
