Other people have already identified the lyrics I could have got, so that only leaves the connections to have a stab at.

I think the overall connection is something like "creatures", with the first group being mammals (bit unsure about this group - seems like it might be too specific with The Animals there at number 1), the second being invertebrates and the third being birds.
