it's nominations day and as usual they're disappointing... but a bit less than usual
only doing categories that matter to me
overall, a few "why is he/she/it still on the list again???" reactions, a few really good surprises, a lot of predictible noms
notes
- I'm really happy that Modern Family got all these noms but I wished some other comedies got some love too.
- I think there are wayyyyy too many nominations for Glee. I have a weird relationship with this show. I want to really really love it but I can't because they're so lazy in their storytelling/continuity/etc. And all these noms won't encourage them to get better!
- I don't understand all those noms for The Office, this season was the worst so far, especially wehn compared to almost every other comedy on air. And this is coming from someone who loves what the show used to be.
- because of the few good surprises we got, I'm retroactively even more pissed off that BSG got snubbed every year in the acting categories... and in the music category! Bear McCreary got a nom! Finally! but for the main title of Human Target!
- seems like I don't watch enough dramas but watch every comedy there is haha
in italics, who I think should win in the actual nominees (90% of the time it's different from who will win sadly for me)

Monk - Tony Shalhoub as Adrian Monk
The Office - Steve Carell as Michael Scott

My noms: Jim Parsons (TBBT), Joel McHale (Community), Ty Burrell (Modern Family) who should have gone for lead instead of supporting, Adam Scott (Party Down), Zachary Levi (Chuck), James Roday (Psych)
Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series
Breaking Bad - Bryan Cranston as Walter White
Dexter - Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan
Friday Night Lights - Kyle Chandler as Eric Taylor => when they announced it I actually squeed in RL and threw my arms in the air haha by the time they announce Connie's nom I was still celebrating Kyle's
House - Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House
Lost - Matthew Fox as Jack Shephard
Mad Men - Jon Hamm as Don Draper
This is where I realize that I don't watch that many dramas... maybe I'd add Peter Krause (Parenthood) to the list.
Outstanding Lead Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie
haven't seen any of these but... Sir Ian McKellen!!!!!
Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series
Glee - Lea Michele as Rachel Berry
The New Adventures Of Old Christine - Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Christine Campbell

Modern Family - Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mitchell
Modern Family - Eric Stonestreet as Cameron Tucker
Modern Family - Ty Burrell as Phil Dunphy
Two And A Half Men - Jon Cryer as Alan Harper
I'm so so so afraid that Jon Cryer will win again. All the MF votes are gonna cancel each other out you know? Silly cast, all going for the supporting noms!
Basically I'd be happy with any other winner (with a preference for the Modern Family guys).
My noms: ok I can't pick only 6 this category is madness! Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family), Rico Rodriguez (Modern Family), Donald Glover & Danny Pudi(Community), Jonathan Slavin and Malcolm Barrett (Better off Ted), Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation), Martin Starr (Party Down)...

Men Of A Certain Age - Andre Braugher as Owen
My noms: again, I don't watch that many dramas. But WTF where's John Lithgow? Only a guest nom, seriously? I mean, he "only" won the Golden Globe this year. *rolls eyes* Also, to keep the FNL love going, what about Zach Gilford? Well ok he was not a regular this season but was in enough episodes to be considered. Oh and of course this could never have happened but... Enver Gjokaj!!! If Toni Collette is nominated for playing multiple personalities, what about Enver playing complete different persons! Serial killer! Topher! A freaking girl! Ahem.
Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series
Glee - Jane Lynch as Sue Sylvester
Modern Family - Julie Bowen as Claire Dunphy
Modern Family - Sofia Vergara as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett
Saturday Night Live - Kristen Wiig as Various Characters
30 Rock - Jane Krakowski as Jenna Maroney
Two And A Half Men - Holland Taylor as Evelyn Harper
I know, *gasp*, I'm not picking Jane Lynch! Truth is, I'm sick with the Emmys' infatuation with Glee. So I picked one of the MF ladies and I picked the one that has the toughest job as she's often the "straight man" in this comedy. WTf another Two And A Half Men nom, WHYYYY.
My noms: Jane Lynch (Glee), Julie Bowen & Sofia Vergara (Modern Family), Lizzy Caplan (Party Down => is she supporting or lead?), Aubrey Plaza (Parks & Recreation), Busy Phillips (Cougar Town), Alison Brie (Community)

Burn Notice - Sharon Gless as Madeline Westen
Damages - Rose Byrne as Ellen Parsons
The Good Wife - Archie Panjabi as Kalinda Sharma
The Good Wife - Christine Baranski as Diane Lockhart
Mad Men - Christina Hendricks as Joan Harris
Mad Men - Elisabeth Moss as Peggy Olson
My noms: I'd like to add Sandra Oh or/and Chandra Wilson (Grey's Anatomy), I'm shocked they're not in there this time because this season has been good for them. Also, Mae Whitman (Parenthood). Yes, her? :p
Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series
Glee - Mike O'Malley as Burt Hummel
Glee - Neil Patrick Harris as Bryan Ryan
Modern Family - Fred Willard as Frank Dunphy
Nurse Jackie - Eli Wallach as Bernard Zimberg

Damages - Ted Danson as Arthur Frobisher
Dexter - John Lithgow as Arthur Mitchell
The Good Wife - Alan Cumming as Eli Gold
The Good Wife - Dylan Baker as Colin Sweeney
Mad Men - Robert Morse as Bertram Cooper
24 - Gregory Itzin as President Charles Logan
yep, still no Zach Gilford... should have been nominated for "The Son" at least!
Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series
The Big Bang Theory - Christine Baranski as Beverly Hofstadter
Desperate Housewives - Kathryn Joosten as Karen McCluskey
Glee - Kristin Chenoweth as April Rhodes => I like her but I don't like episodes with her character, they take too much focus away from the story
Saturday Night Live - Tina Fey as Host
Saturday Night Live - Betty White as Host
30 Rock - Elaine Stritch as Colleen Donaghy
Two And A Half Men - Jane Lynch as Dr. Linda Freeman
lol no please nominate Jane Lynch for her guest spot on Party Down instead!
I'd like to add Kristen Bell on Party Down... and I'm running out of ideas, it's tough to remember guest actors from a whole season!
Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series
Lost - Elizabeth Mitchell as Juliet Burke FTW!!!
too lazy to paste the rest
Outstanding Comedy Series
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Glee
Modern Family
Nurse Jackie
The Office
30 Rock
My noms: Modern Family, Community, Chuck, Party Down, Better off Ted, Parks & Recreation
Outstanding Drama Series
Breaking Bad
Dexter
The Good Wife
Lost because of the nostalgia ;)
Mad Men
True Blood
All of these are good (even if I don't watch some of them, I think they are). I wish FNL was on the list, maybe instead of True Blood (which I love but I don't necessarily think it deserves awards).
