SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY: GOOD EVENING PARIS, BERCY, DEC 10TH 2009

Best.Concert.Ever. Ok I don't go to a lot of concerts (it was only my 2nd this year) but that was freaking awesome. Can't believe the man is 67! Almost 3 hours of show, no interruption!

Met up with littlehutt in Gare de Lyon, arrived JUST as her train pulled into the station (even had time to switch my train ticket as I have a job itw near home on Monday morning). I will spare you the details about lunch and geeky conversations lol. We arrived at Bercy at about 2pm. I'm no good at estimating a crowd but there weren't that many people before us. The weather was perfect: sunny, not too windy, not too cold, such a relief! Didn't even have to wear my hat & gloves! The hours of waiting went by, we had distractions like the ridiculous security guy, some people playing the guitar and singing Beatles songs, my iPod, geeking out over Glee, me convincing littlehutt to watch every show ever... The doors were supposed to open at 6pm but of course they were like, 45 min late. Soundcheck was not over!

We finally got in (they had cut the pit queue in several sections and we were in the 2nd half of the 1st section! Then they left us waiting in the hall for like, half an hour bc the soundcheck was STILL going! We could actually hear part of it and people in front started to sing Something when they recognized it so we started to sing too and it was awesome.

Then, after the security guys were like, "not pushing each other!!!" and we were like "bzuh?" because everyone was standing still, we finally got in :DD We were like, 10 meters/30 feet away from the stage so it was all good. :D Then we... waited. Yes. Bercy was reeeeeeally slow to fill up, organization was not really good. The video montage on the big screen was pretty awesome with pics & videos of Paul & The Beatles on Beatles covers music. At like, 8:45pm we saw French VIPs going to their seats lol. We saw Patrick Bruel, Pascal Obispo, Guillaume Durand & Ariane Massenet hahaha.

Then at 9pm, "just" one hour late, it started!!!!!!

So I took videos with my iPhone, I recorded using the voice memo function (damn you iPhone for not having a longer battery life!) and I also took pics with my camera and they surprised me, they're not bad!

I apologized in advance for the times you can hear me sing/scream, and the times I forget where the lense of the iPhone is and put my finger on it... oops! Also, videos don't have a really good picture quality in general because I don't have a zoom and the lighting was too strong on Paul (though it only shows on videos). But the sound is pretty good (when it doesn't saturate, so the "calm" songs are better).

the setlist was the same as the rest of the tour so far I think, except that since it was France, we got a bonus song, Michelle ;)

The two guys in front of us were weird. They came all the way from Spain and at 1st were really excited, bouncing around, even stepping on my feet, and then sometimes they were totally disinterested and smoking some kind of pot. *rolls eyes* The middle-aged woman next to me and I exchanged a disapproving look lol I'm old.

Oh, that's what I loved about this concert: people from all age ranges! Very old! middle-aged! thirty & twenty-sth! teenagers! (this gave me hope for the next generation, srly) kids who wanted to buy a t-shirt after the show!

and the general atmosphere was really good, no complaining even though the show started one hour late, everybody was very enthusiastic, people in their seats were rising on their feet, just awesome!!! Everyone keeping singing Hey Jude when Paul & his band were away before the 1st encore ♥

Paul tried to speak French quite a lot (he was reading notes lol), that was cute ^^

ok time for pic/vidspam

On Live & Let Die we got fire coming out of the stage! wow! and then fireworks! too bad I wasn't ready to take pics/vids at that time.

And at the end there were white confettis in the air... I think I'm going to find some of them in my bags/clothes for weeks!

oh and look at these guys!

Bought the program at the end of the concert. It's so pretty! I think I'm going to frame it.

My mom told me she wanted to buy a Wii for our family at Xmas. Now I want to have Beatles Rock Band! I already have 2 band members waiting for me hehe. The preview was so cute omg.

I'm so tired. Stayed on our feet for 11 hours straight. And then we didn't feel like sleeping so we spent a lot of time talking and singing. And then I couldn't sleep because my feet hurt too much. And I kept waking up at random hours, each time with a different song in my head LOL. I'm going to be humming songs for days.

I don't think I forgot anything? littlehutt?
